About this listen
On the brink of a disaster that could end all human life on Earth, tech genius Robert Eisenbraun joins a team of scientists in Antarctica on a mission to Jupiter's moon Europa to mine a rare ore that can provide for Earth's long-term energy needs. But as he and the rest of the team train under the ice shelf in preparation for the long journey, trouble erupts. Before they embark, Eisenbraun finds himself the odd man out, and is put into cold sleep against his will.
When he wakes, Eisenbraun finds the ship deserted and no longer functional. He escapes to the surface of an Earth terribly changed. The plan has gone horribly wrong, but as he adapts to a hostile environment, he realizes that there is still a way to accomplish what the mission had set out to achieve. But he also discovers that he faces a new adversary of the most unlikely sort. Now his own survival, and that of the woman whose love has sustained him in his darkest hours, depends on the defeat of a technological colossus partly of his own making.
Confronting a foe that knows him almost as well as he knows himself, Eisenbraun faces the prospect of depending on resources he has reason to believe will be available on one particular night of a full moon - a night foretold by a mysterious, unseen ally to be a pivotal moment for the fate of the planet. The game has changed, and Earth's future depends on him and him alone.
The Omega Project is yet another edge-of-your-seat thriller by best-selling author Steve Alten and is sure to leave listeners looking for more.

creative and actuon packed
Dramatic description with a creative and tense plot. I would have given 5 stars if the ending wasn't a bit weak.

good but could be better...
Overall very interesting story with good narrative but as I'm not experts myself and it's only my personal opinion it's seems that's something missing I can't quite put my finger on it but I definitely recommending that title for anyone who likes bit SF

Great narration, great story.
Firstly Michael David Axtell does a wonderful job narrating this story, kept me thoroughly engaged.
The story is gripping and interesting, I highly recommend, although I felt the ending got a bit strange. Certainly keeps you guessing right to the end.

Long and pointless
In the beginning is good setting up for an interesting journey, but soon after it gets ….. pointless, premise is really off, I mean wtf 12 million years… really!!!! A bad mixture of religion and Jewish apologetics …. Come on !!!! Waste of time.

A good book
Though fantasy is not my usual go too, I enjoyed this book. The story held my attention and I wanted to find out what happened. I tend to rate books too highly so I have been a bit harsher with this one, comparing it to my real favourites.

Strange, but good in the end!
I didn’t read the description before listening to this, and it took a very unexpected turn! In the end though, I enjoyed it - even though the story felt a bit muddled.

Wizard of I Have no Mouth
The author packs so much into a single book it’s difficult to tell what the story being told is. Interspersed with needless passages describing cringe worthy sexual encounters The Omega Project slowly drifts from science fiction to fantasy. Think of a trope and this book has it.
The reader is good however in line with the story’s decline two thirds through I did feel he struggled to maintain the same excellent start.
There were several points brought up that made me stop and think about life - most notably the Holocaust scenes. The opening quotes to each chapter were also nice.
Once it became clear it was a retelling of the Wizard of Oz, in the style of Ellison’s I have no mouth but I must scream it became a chore to continue. I did finish it but I was in satisfied overall.
Sorry to the author, I know you worked hard on it.
