Summary

The Name of God Is Mercy, Pope Francis' exploration of the universal theme of mercy is a spiritual inspiration to both followers of Christianity and non-Christians around the world.

Drawing on his own experience as a priest and shepherd, Pope Francis discusses mercy, a subject of central importance in his religious teaching and testimony, and in addition sums up other ideas - reconciliation, the closeness of God - that comprise the heart of his papacy.

Written in conversation with Vatican expert and La Stampa journalist Andrea Tornielli, The Name of God Is Mercy is directed at everyone, inside or outside of the Catholic Church, seeking meaning in life, a road to peace and reconciliation, or the healing of physical or spiritual wounds.

Inspirational spiritual healing

Where does The Name of God Is Mercy rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Very highly. It is a book I can listen to over and over again. As its message is so positive and forgiving. I use it as a tool to learn and appreciate how merciful God is to us and how we can learn from His example.

What did you like best about this story?

I liked the dialogue between the narrator/interviewer and the actor/Pope Francis. I loved hearing the questions being answered along with examples and stories to illustrate the meanings and lessons.

What does Arthur Morey and Fred Sanders bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

The expression, tone, compassion, understanding, patience, love and mercy. This is an ideal example of how audible works better than reading the book to yourself.

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

How many times should you forgive? Not seven times, but seventy times seven.

Any additional comments?

I found it an inspirational book that I can dip in and out of and listen to it from start to finish continually. It is a book I will often have to hand.
