Summary
Amelia Moore, the founder of the Moore Detective Agency, specializes in missing persons. Her cases have taken her to some very interesting places and put her in some dangerous situations, but she always solves the case. With the help of her partner, Rick Bonito, the business is flourishing.
Pauline Jones is confused why her boyfriend took off without telling a soul where he was going. But that isn't all. Sam Whitaker is accused of stealing a valuable porcelain doll from the museum. His disappearance makes him look guilty, but Pauline is convinced he is innocent. When Amelia finds Sam, she realizes they need to prove his innocence. Where is the antique doll and who has taken it?

A little Jewel
I enjoyed this book. As this is the first book in this series that I have read or listened too and feel safe saying that it might be part of a series but it can still be enjoyed as a standalone or in any order. Although I did enjoy it and might just have to go back to the start to see what I missed. It's a light hearted mystery with no murder but a little romance, I normally prefer the author sticks
to the mystery side of a story but I actually liked the way the author wrote and thought it was a good mix. I liked the characters and the way they interacted with each other. The bucket list was a fun quirky addition to the story, as was the inclusion of the authors notes telling the listener that some of the incidents actually happened but I think it was the unusual mystery that I enjoyed most. It kept me guessing who was behind it all, it was a bit obvious why the dolls was so important but I still loved the case. A fun series that I will have to visit again.
Amelia and Rick's latest case is to help find a missing boyfriend. He disappeared the same day that a porcelain doll was stolen from the museum where he worked. The police think he is guilty but the girlfriend thinks something else is going on. When the FBI show an interest in the case, Amelia knows that to help Sam they have to solve not only where he is but also what happened to the doll. Why is somebody else is looking for it too and how far will they go to get it first?
I liked the narrator. She did some good voices which helped bring the story to life.

Nice cozy mystery
I enjoyed listening to The Mysterious Doll by Linda Weaver Clarke. It’s the 4th in the series, but the first one I’ve read. It was easy to catch up on any backstory so it’s definitely a stand alone. An antique doll is stolen from a museum and Sam, one of the employees, vanishes and the police is sure that 2+2= guilty! Amelia and Sam are hired by Sam’s fiancé to find him. As they investigate, they are followed by police, FBI and a mysterious stranger. Diane Lehman’s narration is great. She brings the characters and story to life.
