Summary
Five audiobooks and more than 20 hours of vampires, witches, and New Orleans Voodoo fill this complete urban fantasy boxset. Because you can't stake a heartless vampire.
Book 1: Bloody Hell
It had been almost a century and a half since I last encountered anyone from the Order of the Morning Dawn. They were religious fundamentalists with the dual goal of eliminating vampires and witches. Being both a vampire and a witch, I was the embodiment of everything the Order hates. Their first attempt to eliminate me failed. Thanks to the fact that my mentor in the craft was also a necromancer. When they burned my heart they didn’t kill me. They unwittingly completed a spell that tied my existence to the soul of one who took my place in hell. Now, I’m heartless, literally. Not having a heart has some advantages. It means I’m pretty resilient, especially when it comes to wooden stakes. So long as the soul bound to my existence remained in hell, I was virtually invincible. But, the Order figured it out. They hope to redeem the soul who was damned in my stead. If they do that, I’ll meet the true death for sure. I have to capture the one damned in my place before the Order manages to liberate him from perdition. If they free him, I will die. I have to go to bloody hell.
Also included are:
- Book 2: Bloody Mad: A Vampire in an asylum? Like that's going to end well...
- Book 3: Bloody Wicked: Taking on a horde of demon possessed vampires? Time to get wicked!
- Book 4: Bloody Devils: We were the terrors of New Orleans. And humanity's only hope.
- Book 5: Bloody Gods: I've always been the hunter...now I'm the hunted.

A 'Bloody' Good Listen
Bloody Hell
We start off with how Mercy Brown, a witch, became a vampire witch and how she doesn't have a heart - literally, so she's very hard to kill.
Unfortunately, her little brother didn't fare too well in that deal as her soul in now tied to him in hell.
Plenty of action and sass. And a betrayal at the end leaves Mercy's brother residing in her which causes no end of trouble.
Bloody Mad
Mercy unknowingly drinks infected blood which lets Edwin loose and sends Mercy mad and she ends up on a bloody rampage. The result - she ends up in an asylum. There she meets Nyx, or Nickie as she's known in her own series.
We meet Cain, the first murderer who is now a doctor and runs the asylum.
Mercy plots her escape with the help of an unexpected person.
Bloody Wicked
The infections are increasing, Mercy doesn't know who to trust anymore. She heads out to New Orleans to get an object which is supposed to help stop the infections. More surprises are in store for Mercy and a betrayal which shatters her.
Bloody Devils
Mercy, Haley and Julie find out that Asmondus is still alive and has inhabited another body and he wants to join forces with the trio, but are his intentions true or is he after something?
The Order of the Morning Dawn are hot on their trail too so they are trying to evade several foes at once whilst trying to stop Legion, who is infecting the vampires to clone himself.
Bloody Gods
The climactic conclusion of Mercy's story is fast paced, again more betrayals - will the Weird Sisters win against all the odds stacked against them?
These books are amazing, great characters and storyline. Kept me entertained.
I loved the narration with the audio effects.

Great series
I love Mercy she’s so witty I giggled most way through listening. She has to find a way to kill the demons who are infecting humans with a virus that allows demons to possess vampires when they drink the infected blood. However there’s only Mercy and a few friends to take down a legion of demons and as Mercy said demons , devils and d1ckheads oh my.

Fun and entertaining
I have to admit that this set started a bit slow for me, but it slowly drew me in, and then the action and adventure kicked in and I was hooked. I loved Mercy, and her feistiness, snark and humor. All the other characters were great, too. Fantastic series that I highly recommend for anyone who likes vampires, witches, werewolves, demons and other supernatural phenomenon.
The narrator took me a little while to get used to, like the story, but she really suited the story.
I received a free copy of this audiobook at my request and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

Super
The full story of Vampire Witch Mercy Brown is a pleasure to read. I love to read Theo's books as his folk lore and ability to tie in the mythical with the modern world. Time flies when you read these books. Superb
