About this listen

Charles Humphrey, the Earl of Lonsdale, is infamous for his seductions. With laughing, gray eyes and a halo of blond hair, he's every woman's wicked dream. Beneath that devil-may-care grin he has a painful past that has made him sure love was not for him, even as the rest of his friends, the members of the League of Rogues, settle down in wedded bliss. When he accidentally rescues a mysterious beauty with eyes as haunted as his own and shares one life-changing kiss with her, she vanishes in the night. Charles vows to find this angel who might yet save his soul, but he knows anyone he cares about is in grave danger when an old enemy resurfaces a final time for revenge....

Lily has secrets, too many secrets. When she's abducted and taken into the London underworld by a gang of nefarious brutes, she's rescued by Charles, the one man who can never know her past. She can't let him discover her feelings or her secrets, but she can't resist sharing one kiss with him before escaping his passionate embrace. That taste of the last bachelor of the League of Rogues leaves her desiring a future she cannot have - especially when her master demands she prove her loyalty in a most deadly way....

excellent series

Friendship, true caring and seamless blending of the story from one book to the other. Although each book can be stand alone it is far more enjoyable to start at book one. Strong female characters.

What a series

I have enjoyed this series since listening to the first one. They have gone from strength to strength and this one has been the best yet, although I think that about each of them as I listen. I never give away any part of the plots in my reviews because I don't want to spoil them for others but they are excellent.

Cravat pin

I did enjoy this book and the performance of the narrator, she has got better the more of the series she read, although I did have to speed up her voice as it drawls rather a lot. As for the story, I had waited for Lilly to be revealed and tell all and with that how to identify the spies in the households but she didn’t? Did the writer forget? The pin could have been revealed in book 4 when Rosalind was reunited with her brothers as they had been told the secret of the pin by none other than Hugo himself and if all his spies had the pin why did Tom not know that Daniel was one of them? Was disappointed a bit because of this
