Just brilliant.
The most brilliant and compelling account of the end of the war in Europe. This should be required listening for every student of history and they will love it.
Narrator was excellent. Occasionally the narration was edited to include an additional fact for clarity but once you recognise this it isn't an issue.

Informative and fascinating
What made the experience of listening to The Last 100 Days the most enjoyable?
An excellent book covering all aspects of what happened during those momentous last 100 days of Nazi Germany. The authors reference to 100000 dead at Dresden though is factually incorrect. The actual figure has been determined at 25000. His statement that American paratroops fought for the first time since D Day in Operstion Varsity when the Allies crossed the Rhine caused me to wonder. What about Market Garden? The death of, and subsequent lynching, of Mussolini and his mistress was fascinating. The narration by Ralph Cosham was brilliant. All in all an excellent book that is well worth a listen.

Incredible
A comprehensive set of detailed - so detailed - accounts, bringing together the whole why’s and wherefore’s of the war. I wanted to know more about it all, who was who, who did what, what happened to them and everyone in the war and it is all there, complete and raw. Hard to listen to when you know it is not fiction, how could it have been allowed to happen. The individual accounts of personal battles - the men freed from prison of war camps without a plan to find themselves not being saved after all as they had to fight to get back to safety, only to find themselves facing utter destruction - just soul destroying but such a testament to how people will try anything to survive. Harrowing yet an amazing account of the war and the people trapped within it. Excellent. Should be taught in schools.

Rather odd editing
Another great book by John Toland , with lots of details and anecdotes often not mentioned in other books and again you always hear something new that you’ve never heard of before .
HOWEVER - once again a otherwise enjoyable book is somewhat marred by some strange narration editing and the readers voices changes , often in mid sentence and often for just a few words..
It might be that it’s a sentence in brackets or quotation but to me it sounds as if something was missed out in the original recording . This goes on throughout the book and eventually becomes irratating as it did in another book read by this guy ..

Disappointing recording sound
Very interesting story Well read but the sound was terrible at times. Listening in a car meant having to have the volume up really loud

Not just another war book!
WOW! I have listened to many books covering the subject of WW2, but this is different.
It delves in to the political and planning aspects; giving an insight into the main player's ideas, concerns and mind games.
I wish this book never ended, such was Toland's writing style
And as for Cosham; what a beautifully hypnotic voice.
For the first time I found myself looking at other books he's narrated, purely because I love his voice.
This book is a must for those wanting a slightly different perspective on the conflict. I promise you won't regret it.

I have read / listened to hundreds of World war two books and without doubt this is one of the best. Brilliantly written, very well read and totally gripping. Highly recommend

Makes you feel like were there.
Flows along nicely, at times horrific,the destruction of the German people and then decades of Soviet rule all explained in graphic detail.
