Summary
A mysterious island. A missing brother. Only three days until the volcano erupts.
East of the Solomon Islands, 1899.
Under the protection of darkly handsome Captain Jorge de Silva, Lady Bathsheba Asquith lands on the tropical island of Vanuaka in search of her missing brother. The trials of the jungle strip away any pretense of propriety and passion flares, but de Silva is not all he seems, and Bathsheba is in more danger than she can imagine.
Vanuaka's volcano is awakening, and only a human sacrifice can appease its fire.
Heat level: passionate.

Interestingly Different
Well what would you expect from a book with this title!?
A good and interesting enough storyline to keep you listening to the end.
Not many smexy times but that didn't detract from the story.
As always, I love the sound effects and this Narrator has a voice that keeps you listening.

So Good!
The Lady's Guide to Escaping Cannibals is a wonderfully written and engaging historical romance. The characters are absolutely refreshing and totally appealing. Lady Bathsheba Asquith, a strong-minded, independent widow, is in search of her brother. Captain Jorge de Silva is the handsome ship captain, steering to the Pacific Island. Their story is adventurous, filled with suspense, erupting volcanos, cannibals, excitement, passion, steam, and romance, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Gareth J. Davies did an outstanding job with the narration and bringing Emmanuelle de Maupassant's words to life. Overall, The Lady's Guide to Escaping Cannibals was a fantastic and highly enjoyable listen, one I'll recommend.

Sexy and fun South Sea adventure
Another enjoyable novella from the “Ladies Guide” series, Escaping Cannibals is a sexy and fun South Sea adventure. Young aristocratic widow Bathsheba Asquith searching for her missing brother enlists the help of lovable rogue / pirate Captain Silva to find him. Throw in some deceit, sexual tension, lustful sex and danger for an exciting little story. The audio version is Brilliantly narrated, with sound effects to add atmosphere.

Adventure and romance
This was quite a different story, set in the islands near Australia. Lady Bathsheba Asquith has bravely set out in search of her brother. She wanted an adventure, similar to those her father and brother went on. To help her in her quest to find her brother, she pays Captain Jorge de Silva to take her to the island, Vanuaka. Jorge is desperate for the money she will pay him. They are attracted to each other and when they are on the island together, things progress. Jorge is unlike any man Bathsheba has known and she wonders why she is so attracted to him. However, Jorge has a secret that may affect how Bathsheba feels about him. There are some dangerous moments on the island that will keep you reading until the end. The narrator had an easy voice to listen to and he changed his accent and tone for the different characters. I particularly enjoyed the sound effects.

Great adventure!
Another great story by by Emmanuelle de Maupassant.
Bathsheba is in search for her brother and travels to the place he’d last departed from. She travels with Captain Jorge to Vanuaka, an island with an active volcano and a tribe of cannibals from which they have to escape.
I loved how brave Bathsheba was and despite being grumpy at first, Captain Jorge just couldn't help himself and fell in love with her.
Gareth J. Davies did a really great job. And the sound effects were a great addition to the story.
