Summary
Read by the author, Shahroo Izadi
'A powerful way to break even the most stubborn bad habit so you can live the life you deserve' – Steven Bartlett, The Diary of a CEO
Map your habits, set your own goals and treat yourself with the kindness you truly deserve.
Shahroo Izadi has a revolutionary message: treating yourself kindly is the only way to make changes that last. She is living proof that her method works – after years of yo-yo dieting she shed over eight stone (and has kept it off ever since). Professional training coupled with personal experience led her to develop The Kindness Method, a totally non-judgemental approach which turns strict regimes upside down to leave you feeling empowered, positive and ready to embrace change.
In The Kindness Method, Behavioural Change Specialist Shahroo invites you first, to give yourself a break - life can be stressful - and then learn how to strengthen your willpower like a muscle so you can sustain motivation for the long haul. These techniques may seem gentle, but the results are life-changing because the plan is tailored to you, and they can work for everything from alcohol addiction to procrastination to weight loss. By using the same techniques that she has used to help substance addicts recover from dependence, you too will find that you have the power to change – for good.

Excellent!
This book is for everyone. I can’t stop recommending this book! I found it especially useful as audio in helping me commit by not progressing until I completed each task as it came along. The process really helped me understand what lapse looks like to me and to know what to do when it happens. It can only be with kindness! I thank Shahroo for this generous book!

you can change your life.
I was asked by a friend to help him change his life. he saw the changes I'd made and wanted to embark on a similar journey.
My own change was the result of a lot of research, learning, trial, error and failure. I had made massive improvements to my life and I'm extremely aware of the good work I've done. BUT I'm not at all qualified to help my friend so rather than try to reinvent the wheel or replicate what had worked for me I looked for existing change plans for inspiration and guidance.
This book will work.
Every tool is rooted in solid science.

Like having a 1-2-1 with Shahroo herself
After listening to a few podcasts where Shahroo Izard had guest appeared, I decided to buy the audio version on The Kindness Method. She has a wonderful, easy to listen to voice. Felt the way I imagine a 1-2-1 would be. I bought the paperback for the visuals but realised later that PDF versions are included. Would highly recommend for anyone who's internal voice is negative or talking them out of changes they know they want or would prefer to live with.

I never write reviews
I bought this out of sheer curiosity, I am someone who was once troubled when I was younger but since then became a sorted driven and disaplined character. However you can always learn something new and apply new techniques to your own life or helping those you care about around you. Wow what a book this author has a beautiful, deeply caring mind and it is such an in-depth way of dealing with bad habits and behaviours. Worth the read/listen.

A great book with helpful tools
I really enjoyed the book and after listening through it all the first time I now need to go back and do the exercises - this book would definitely be more helpful in written format for that reason, although it does have an accompanying pdf. Thank you, I will try to change some unhelpful deeply ingrained beliefs and habits.
