Summary

After a night of drunken debauchery following the defeat of the academy's headmistress, Lucas awakens to trouble on all fronts. The steady balance of power within the Imperium has been shaken by his presence, and the resulting aftermath is a town full of heavily armed and well-staffed enemies that seek Lucas' death. Lucas must not only survive their assault but also manage his own slowly crumbling internal affairs when his party begins to fracture. Angered by Lucas' increasingly selfish actions, some of his closest allies are tempted to turn against him.

Follow our protagonist while he tries to grow his influence within the empire, survive the daggers in his back from Imperium traitors, and restore the relationship he truly wants with the woman he has slowly fallen in love with in this epic litrpg adventure from Charles Dean.

Wrapped it up nicely

Great story from an awesome writer.
Great performance from an awesome company.
A touching message at the end that brought a tear or two to my eyes.
If you have heard or read the other two then it cannot be left unfinished. Charles Dean writes very compelling stories and they benefit even further from the love and care Soundbooth theatre give to their performances and sound design. Do yourself a favour and get all the books by either the Author or the production company and you will be entertained over and over again like I have for years now. Thank you to them all for filling a great big entertainment void in me :-)

Spectacular

What a solid story! A compelling book with excellent voice acting and sounds. On top of that, the post story message from the author was heartbreaking and made me want to shout this books praise from the roof. Well done for getting through a tough time to give us a great series.

Breath taking

I cried my eyes out through the story. This book series was by far the best one I've ever listened to.

It was hard for me to get into another story when I had listened to a few great titles that made me feel like I wouldn't be able to find something at least as good as those, but yet.. this story rolled my feelings again and again, I felt so much empathy with the MC that I started to question my whole life choices and every time I did that, I felt more attached to the story as if its a part of me, as if it is I who lost my beloved wife in a terrible accident and had to struggle with the blame that I would inevitable put upon myself.

I as many others had struggles, more or less.. but those struggles worked as a catalyst into seeing the truth about how much work and feelings the author put together to craft this masterpiece.

Mr. Charles Dean, you ever see this review, I am sorry for your loss and I'm looking forward to your next series of books, whenever they might come and hopefully narrated by the same team which had made this story come to life more than a normal narration would.

Kind regards
