Just drop anchor!

Fantastic listen. So insightful. I’ve tried CBT but wasn’t quite grasping the concept of allowing it. Russ made me understand the meaning of this and no matter what life’s obstacles, it’s ok to make mistakes and try again the next day. After all, that’s what commitment in ACT means- just keep going! Great read, 100% recommend to anyone who is wanting to practice ACT for what ever difficulties, challenges or just general personal development in life.

The best and only book you'll need to learn about ACT

As a CBT and EMDR therapist, if there was only one book I could recommend to my anxious and/or depressed clients, this would be it. Russ Harris has a gift for communicating complex psychological ideas and interventions in such a simple and easily understandable way. I first learnt about ACT through the equally amazing founder of ACT (Steven Hayes) and would highly recommend his text to those who are interested, but if there was only one I could give it would be this one. I no doubt will be returning to this book for reminders and refreshers and this book could easily put me out of business! If you can't afford therapy, this book will be easily the next best thing!

Very influential. The book I recommend most frequently in my clinical practice.

Making complex ideas simple and accessible. ACT is one of the third wave of cognitive and behavioural psychotherapies. It can be transformative in people’s lives. Recommended.
