About this listen
Mickey Haller gets the text, "Call me ASAP - 187," and the California penal code for murder immediately gets his attention. Murder cases have the highest stakes and the biggest paydays, and they always mean Haller has to be at the top of his game.
When Mickey learns that the victim was his own former client, a prostitute he thought he had rescued and put on the straight and narrow path, he knows he is on the hook for this one. He soon finds out that she was back in LA and back in the life. Far from saving her, Mickey may have been the one who put her in danger.
Haunted by the ghosts of his past, Mickey must work tirelessly and bring all his skill to bear on a case that could mean his ultimate redemption or proof of his ultimate guilt.

Enjoyable listen
Overall and enjoyable listen, felt a little bit of a drag at some points and the longest time it’s taken me to finish any of this series’. But overall another good book and worth the time. A tiny bit convoluted at points, but interesting enough

Surprising twists
Somber at times, but as ever delivers great characterisations and plot. The intricacy of the story is addictive.

Another enjoyable read from Michael Connelly
Would you consider the audio edition of The Gods of Guilt to be better than the print version?
An enjoyable read. It isn't very demanding but the characters and the situations work well together to make you listen to the end.
As always Michael Connelly writes in an engaging way, mixing the personal and the procedural together well. It does tend to read like a film script but that isn't always a bad thing.
What did you like best about this story?
It is a good mix of the personal life of the protagonist and his professional life. It doesn't keep you guessing but it has its moments.
Which scene did you most enjoy?
I quite liked anticipating when Harry Bosch would make an appearance.

Thrilling
Another utterly brilliant novel by the Master of Thrillers!
Listened in one sitting. Edge of your seat stuff, but you didn't want it to end either. Love it when all loose ends are addressed and this doesn't disappoint.
