Marvelous

I just love it. I use to hear it when I was a girl. It's such simplistic fun.

Nostalgic

Loved it. Remember listening to this on the radio years ago. Still found it amusing.

Memories

Listening once again to June Bromfield,Dick Bentley and that erstwhile typically British Jimmy Edwards brought back memories of my childhood listening on the radio to their wonderfully entertaining humourous shows. Along with others such as "Much Binding in The Marsh" and The Goons they introduced me to the adroit style of British humour which has formed the basis of my own sense of humour.

The glums<br />

Frank Muir and Dennis Nordens scripts are timelessly funny these sketches are each 15 minutes in length and June Whitfield Jimmy Edwards and Dick Bentley bring this helpless family to life. exceptionally funny I must have listened to this dozens of times first on tape. then downloaded onto Audible. there are more scripts I have a book of them. please BBC release what you have.

Truly miserable

I'd been listening to some old time radio shows and this was recommended to me describing itself as a tale of vulgar stupid people, just like you.

The humour limited as it is, co.es from a stock of 3 characters Pa Glum a venal scheming grasping patriarch whose get rich quick schemes amount to nothing ( think Dell Trotter without the twinkle and charm), his Son who is thick as 2 short planks and seems to be questionably Australian or New Zealand accented for no discernable reason who's been unemployed for 7 years and his harpy voiced fiance Eth.

There are 8 episodes presented here and that's arguably 7 too many in the 12 minutes of any episode youlearn the level of humour and character both of which is less than paper thin.

It lacks the limited charm of something like the Brewsters or Aynuk and Ali instead presenting a set of tropes well worn by the time the show first appeared and nearly 50 years on dug into ditches best avoided.

Everyone involved in this has done much better work elsewhere
