Summary

Have other people called your child "too sensitive"? Do you have children who cry too easily or have too many particular demands? Have you felt at a loss on how to confront your child who may be too emotional and flies off into tantrums easily?

Then, your child may be a highly sensitive child.

High sensitivity is a personality trait that may not be common, but exists in 15 to 20 percent of our population. They are ordinary people, but highly sensitive people (HSP) or highly sensitive children (HSC) may just have some particular needs not shared by everyone.

Having a highly sensitive child may be challenging for parents, and many have searched for resources on how to take care of them. This audiobook is the product of my own experience of taking care of a highly sensitive child.

Hopefully, the insights I have gathered from my personal experience with a sensitive child may also help other parents take better care of their highly sensitive children.

In this audiobook, you will learn:

  • The definition of highly sensitive person
  • Causes of such a personality trait
  • Ways for disciplining a HSC
  • Proper attitude and approaches to adopt when caring for a highly sensitive child
  • Issues that may hound a HSC in their adulthood

Get this book and you will never look at your child in the same way again. You will learn to appreciate the gifts of your child’s sensitivity and even be thankful you had one.

May your parenting problems find confidence in this book, dedicated to the creativity of highly sensitive persons!

A useful overview but unsure of discipline chapter

I found this book a useful overview and insight into another parent with a HSC. The discipline section is perhaps specific to American children and norms which I can't agree with entirely after listening to a great audiobook by Philipa Perry which is much about breaking unhelpful parenting traits and building loving relationships with your children. There is a growing body of knowledge about the negative consequences of hitting children and more so with HSC's. I think the author should have challenged this but didn't.

Both for my daughter and myself

I saw myself in the description - good starting point to reflect on the past and shape a bright future for my daughter

Fantastic!!

I found this book so helpful, having two young children you never realise why they are struggling and this book made a lot of sense. it also made me question myself, as a lot of the chapters sounded like myself. I always wondered why I handle certain situations differently to others, we'll now I know. I thoroughly enjoyed learning about this subject, a great book by the author and the narrator did a very good job teaching me all about a highly sensitive child.
This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.
