Loved it. Variety, SciFi and space opera

Binge listened to this set of books. Loving the variety of themes. The cultural references (like the hive of villainous scum) are appreciated.
Looking forward to the next set.

Had to stop half way through book 5

Spoilers. Books one and two were great, three was a good story but way too much filler (I wonder who the villain could be? When it's obvious).

Now on to book four and five... another great idea and great story but why has everyone suddenly dropped to 80IQ? How is it that the AIs controlling the earth are so incapable? The author makes a big deal out of how smart they are and yet I find myself thinking constantly about how the AI should be easily handling so many situations, not to mention, my mind was blown when one of the AIs spills a ton of sensitive information to the invaders and then follows up by explaining how they can kill him?!

How can Layla (the olive skinned queen we get it), who grew up on a farm with no external exposure be the brains in any discussion they're having. How can Ripley, a teenager who just got lucky in being saved from stasis come up with anything that the AIs wouldn't have thought of already? If dragons are so powerful and Ara is one of the eldest and strongest why can't she do more than breathe fire and follow her own scent? Just because they all speak to each other with big words doesn't make the conversation intelligent. Bit of a rant but with so much potential the books have become frustrating. Always the same villain, never any justice, here's another adventure I wonder who the bad guy this time oh wait it's Melalia again who has managed to hold the most unrealistic grudge in existence.

Nothing is progressing. Every character has stalled and lost their intellect.

People seem to love these books (and I did too in books 1-2) but I just can't do any more.

Had to drop it unfortunately

I enjoyed the first book (1-3) in this series. honestly I didn't think they were groundbreaking or must read sort of books. but they kept me entertained enough. however I had to stop listening to his book after about 5 hours. any flaws I had overlooked with the first book I had hoped that they would have been improved upon by now, but they haven't been. plot holes, cringy clichés, and a basic level of writing that has made me (a person with zero writing skills) belive I could write a half decent book.

Maybe it just isn't a good fit for me as I know a decent amount of people do enjoy this books. but for me it just is too campy.
