About this listen
Blood stains my hands, my soul, my heart, yet I’ll shed more to keep her safe.
A chance meeting brings Jen MacNeill into my life - the woman born to reign at my side. She just doesn’t know it yet. How could my lady be anything other than a silken promise taunting me with every breath she takes?
A new don reigns over Manhattan. But though I won the war, peace isn’t easily brokered. Over a decade of avenging my father’s death, I made many enemies. To each and every one, Jen’s a target. But I’ll paint New York City red before I let them harm her. I just never imagined I’d be in the line of fire first.
A heart broken by grief can feel no guilt or shame with the brutality in which vengeance is delivered. This is the first part of the Oath duet in the Valentini Family series.

good
I loved this when I read it and I loved listening to it too, the only thing was at times the Irish accent that came through even though Luciu is Sicilian

Part one of the Oath Duet
This book really started with a bang, huh? I adored the way that Luciu was completely gone for Jen right from the moment he saw her. Personally from the other books she's appeared in, I could take or leave Jen really, but this book has made me interested to see what happens in the next book.

Serena Akeroyd has been my go to Mafia writer for over a year and this is why.
I almost feel like I’m cheating on my Irish Mob lovers with this Sicilian heart throb though. Luciu has so many things he plans to do to claim back everything he lost. As the new Don he isn’t afraid to get dirty….in every way.
These audios have bought to life a couple that I wasn’t sure I loved until I was in their story.
I’ve listened to multiple audiobooks and I have to admit that this is the first time I’ll be looking for a narrator specifically. Something about these guys have made these books somehow even more addictive and I cannot wait to get the next book in the duet.
And since I’m a glutton for punishment this definitely ends on a cliffhanger!! I’m so relieved that The Lady is already waiting for me to listen to!

Really enjoyable mob romance
Luce and Jen are without doubt my favourite of the filthy world/series, I love how firstly Jen is and how Luce is just obsessed with her. In my head Luce kinda looked a bit like Michael Corleone! Would love to listen to more of their story but like hearing snippets through their friends too. Thought the two narrators did a brilliant job, I couldn’t have got into the story if not.

Dark Mafia romance
Having read most of the f’ilthy’ series I thought I would give this a try, typically I find spin offs difficult to get into as I form such a strong attachment to the main character.
Jen is not your typical female lead character, she’s not weak and demure, she isn’t the strong hero type. She is the daughter of a hooker and a self proclaimed gold digger. I did not imagine I would enjoy listening to Jen as much as I did.
The narration was brilliant, female narrator has such a lovely voice and the way she reads with humour in her voice has you laughing throughout.
The male narrator made a fantastic Sicilian, however I would detect a bit of Irish at times - this was not a problem and if anything made the accent so much more.
This is a must listen.

Holy Mary Mother of Silcilian mafia hotness!!!
Holy Mary Mother of Sicilian mafia hotness!!!
The Don starts off with a bang, quite literally, I mean who doesn’t love a good filthy anal screwing to kick start a book. It’s something I wasn’t expecting but was very happy to enjoy with my cup of tea and cornflakes!
The Don is book one of the Valentini family duet and interconnects with the Five Point Series. I am waiting for the Five Point Series to come to audio (14/02) before I dive into the that world, but I had no problem understanding the various relationships.
Luciu Valentini is new to New York and makes a name for himself as he steps up as head of the Sicilian mafia, not Italian, Sicilian! Luciu is a highly intelligent man. He’s an educated MBA graduate who never intended to take over the family business yet found his way to the top after everything was taken from his family.
Jen MacNeill (Fi) is a fantastic heroine. You’ve got to love a woman who has the balls to barge into a Don’s office, bend over his desk and demand butt stuff! Jen is the daughter of a whore, a self-professed gold digger who has spent her life fighting for the little she has. When Jen meets Luciu, she knows he’s mafia and is a dangerous man, yet she can’t stay away from him.
Joe Arden gives a masterclass in how to portray a highly intelligent, dangerously menacing mafia Don! Alpha Joe came out to play in the most delicious way. Growly, sensuous, dominant, loving, and downright dirty…absolutely incredible!
CJ Bloom’s performance as Jen is quite simply magnificent! CJ manages to capture the fiery, take no crap side of Jen’s personality and slips easily into the softer, vulnerable side while also showing her to be the sexy siren she is! A stellar performance by an incredible duo!
I loved this first instalment of the mafia duet and my first book from Serena, it certainly won’t be my last by this fabulous author.
My favourite line of the book “When he tells you his face is his throne, there’s only one thing to do…take a seat!” - Jen

3,5 🌟 cliffhanger alert 😭😵
I enjoyed this mafia romance. The Sicilian Don (NOT ITALIAN - he really stressed it, a lot), really is a very sexy and dangerous marshmallow. The story is a little dark at times and she is a self-proclaimed gold-digger, shallow and, because of her background, fiercely against drugs and quite independent, even if using her body to get what she wants. The fact she kept her V card despite all the smex is a bit ridiculous. Apart from that be aware that this is extremely hot 🔥🌶 hot 🔥🌶 hot 🔥🌶hot 🔥🌶hot 🔥🌶 from page 1.
Narration was amazing.

Sublime
I love this book and listening to it instead makes me feel like I am living the story. Joe Arden and CJ Bloom as Lucio and Jen are sublime. Joe Arden's Sicilian accent makes me melt.
While this is this book is set in The Five Points universe, it is book one in a stand alone duet. I would definitely recommend reading both The Feckers and The Sinners, just so you can experience the genuis that is Serena Akeroyd.
