Summary

Brought to you by Penguin.

More than 20 years after her death, Princess Diana remains a mystery. Was she "'the people's princess', who electrified the world with her beauty and humanitarian missions? Or was she a manipulative, media-savvy neurotic who nearly brought down the monarchy?

The Diana Chronicles parts the curtains on Diana's troubled time in the mysterious world of the Windsors, as she breaks out of her royal cage into celebrity culture, where she found her own power and used it to devastating effect.

Knowing Diana personally, Tina Brown understands her world, understands its players and has reaching insight into the royals and the queen herself. Meet the formidable female cast and get to know the society they inhabit, as you never have before.

highly enjoyable

to be honest I was not sure if I would enjoy this but I did. if you are travelling have a listen, mug of tea in the garden equally suitable. For me this was a refreshing and informative view on a woman who was desperate to love and be loved for nothing more than herself

A very detailed and balanced biography of Diana.

The author captures Diana's shadow side and her great humanity in an unvarnished retelling of her life.

Terrible narrator-

wish Tina had done it herself as she has a great voice. Loved her other books when read with her voice. Such a shame as good story but I couldn’t get over the way the narrator said Diana

An exercise in circumlocution.

I gave up with this book after two chapters. Anyone who had never heard of Diana, Princess of Wales and looking for a simple outline description of the person to start with would be none the wiser after reading this heavy and unnecessary use of multiple words that at the end conveyed nothing other than the author’s love of words.

Too much use of references from lady Colin Campbell and Paul Burrell

Both of which overplayed their part in her life especially lcc. She acts in her book like she lived in Diana’s handbag! Burrell has been called out so many times by others about his part. So I was disappointed by that. The rest of it was good, but those pair make me wince. It was very in-depth. It’s no brief run through of her life. It’s heavy going so be warned.
