a lovely gentle story

I loved how this was a sort of late life 'coming of age' quest for Arthur. it was a really lovely story that hits you right in the feels and shows that it's never too late to experience adventure.

the narrator had a nice voice but I found the way he narrated strangely repetitive - every sentence had the same inflection which was irritating after a while. Also another instance when an English narrator really shouldn't attempt an Irish accent (it started out Scottish and then became a strange hybrid of northern and southern Irish with a little Geordie thrown in.)

a nice easy listen

I'm just getting into audiobooks and this was a good place to start. A nice easy listen with an interesting story it's lovely to follow Arthur and his adventures. some of the accents leave something to be desired but they can be forgiven.

A lovely heartwarming story.

Nothing taxing. Well read and a really pleasant story. Made me laugh in places, feel sad and frustrated in others.
I enjoyed it and told friends about it. Arthur reminded me of a couple of people in my life and I would like to pass this book onto them!

What a lovely listen!

I adored this book.

The start is a little slow, and the narration a little "odd" ...

... but once I got into the book I was captivated!

charming

Along the lines of 'the 100 year old man who jumped out of the window....' and the unlikely pilgrimage of Harold Fry , this tells a story which passes time and place
Gentle and uplifting
A lovely story of love, loss, loneliness, optimism, family and friendship .
Utterly charming .
The world needs more Arthur Peppers .
