Summary

Do you know where your kids are?

The brand new up-all-night thriller from the Sunday Times bestselling author of Richard and Judy pick The Holiday and The Catch.

I should have known something was wrong. I should have sensed it. Felt it in the air, like the build-up of pressure before a thunderstorm, that heavy, loaded calm.

The curfew

Andy and Laura are good parents. They tell their son Connor that he can go out with friends to celebrate completing his exams, but he must be home by midnight.

The lie

When Connor misses his curfew, it sets off a series of events that will change the lives of five families forever.

The truth?

Because five teenagers went into the woods that night, but only four came out. And telling the truth might mean losing everything...

The curfew

Fairly enjoyable but predictable. Some unrealistic parts, would the police really give so much info over the phone? The husband constantly praising the mother when she was useless. Also what kind of GP has not seen a d body since training and doesn’t know how to look for vital signs? Glad he’s not my Gp. It’s an okay listen but a bit wishy washy.
Very good narrator but the use of some Americanisms was annoying, not sure if it was written like that or not ie Zee instead Zed.

Really Enjoyed, Great Listen

This is my type of book, relatable characters, good story which kept me hooked and guessing until the end.

I looked for others by this author after but realised I had already listened to them all and enjoyed them.

Narration better than story

If the narration had not been so good l would have given up on this story Lame lacklustre however Richard Armitage saved it

Two halves

The beginning of this scary tale is so frustrating! Surely parents of a teenage boy can’t be so disassociated from him. The mother panders to his every whim whilst the father appears frightened of his own son. I almost stopped listening because of its slow start and infuriating characters. However, the actual story when it got going was well worth the wait and had plenty of twists to engage the reader. Richard Armitage carried it through!

A good but average story excellent narration.

Enjoyed it enough to keep listening which is quite a big deal as I’ve found so many stories dull as ditchwater recently.
