Summary
My future is a big "what if" at the moment and I'm fine with that. For the most part.
When Thayer Holmes moves in next door, the grumpy landscaper both fascinates and amuses me. When he asks me to nanny his kid, it's a great way to make some extra money. It's impossible not to fall in love with Thayer and his adorable son.
There's a big problem though. I'm eighteen. He's thirty-one. Falling for someone almost fifteen years older than me wasn't part of my plans, but sometimes things happen when you least expect them.

Devastating!
This is #1 of a duet and it is definitely not an HEA. In fact please look at trigger warnings carefully as it is extremely sad and the ending is very unexpected.
It's a very slowburn book and it reminded me initially of The Naked Fisherman insofar as Salem is 18 and Thayer, a single dad and Salems neighbour, is 30 as well as being set in a small town, but that's where the similarities end!
This book is far more devastating and I completely understand why some readers bawl their eyes out, so take care when you read this book and have your tissues ready.
Now onto #2 where it can only get happier, hopefully.
