About this listen

Evil beware. The son of the Dragon King doesn’t check his temper at the door.

The impulsive youth Nath Dragon knows what he must do to earn his scales. Still trapped in human form, he hunts down the dragon poachers - who are killing and enslaving his kin - with a vengeance. Accompanied by a dwarf named Brenwar Bolderguild, the brazen warriors clash against the world full of orcs, elves, ogres, trolls, goblins, and men in order to save his brethren.

But unforeseen dangers lurk in the shadows. The sinister scheme of High Priestess Selene and her dragon master, Gorn Grattack, threaten all of dragonkind. And in a moment of violent fury, Nath is cursed for all time.

Now, Nath - armed with the magical sword called Fang - sets out on a perilous path toward redemption. At its end, the ultimate battle awaits him, when he must confront the powerful evil lurking within and the wicked dragon army sworn to defeat him. And if Nath does not prevail, the fate of dragonkind is doomed.

It is ok

My only major dislike is the music
it is to metallic and it detracts from the narration

Not what I'd expected...

...and a bit disappointed. The quality of the recording is, well, odd. There is the narrator speaking in your ear, and then the characters who sound like they are in a pillow case about 20 feet away. Just bizarre. And - judging on length of this book - I thought it would be an adult fantasy book... Perhaps in the Terry pratchet style, or Tolkien. But no. This seems to be aimed at the same crowd as the Twilight series, except I can't imagine a teen having the patience for a 50 hour book? Anyway it's not great, but it's OK. Get it with a credit, don't buy it.

Fun and entertaining

Format: audiobook
Narrator: Lee Alan
This narrator has a good voice, easy to listen to and good delivery. He suits this series.

Bk 1: The Hero, the sword and the dragons.
Nath Dragon, son of the dragon king has to earn his scales and become the dragon he’s supposed to be but things don’t go as Nath hopes and he finds himself banished to try and find the solution to his curse.
An enjoyable fantasy adventure, ideal for a younger audience, plenty of action and sound effects that give it a film/play vibe.

Bk 2: Dragon Bones and Tombstones.
Nath Dragon sets out on his quest to free captured dragons but he’s gonna need to curb his temper and listen to advice if he’s to find a way to lift his curse.
I wasn’t sure if this was going to be my kind of story but I find myself being drawn into the adventure. I’m looking forward to seeing what else Nath Dragon has to face.

Bk 3: Terror at the temples.
Nath Dragon learns a hard lesson when he sneaks away from Brenwar his dwarf companion, will this teach him to listen to Brenwar’s wise council instead of acting without thinking? Can Nath fight evil without killing? His future and the future of everyone relies on it.
A fun enjoyable adventure.

Bk 4: Clutch of the Cleric.
Nath Dragon had a lucky escape in the last book, will his luck hold?
Plenty of trials for Nath and his group as they travel looking for answers to his curse.
Elves, dwarfs, dragons and man will have to work together but with a possible traitor in their midst and Nath Dragon’s lack of control the odds are stacked against them and the trap has been set.
It’s very easy to get sucked into this adventure with an edge of the seat ending. There’s plenty to keep you entertained

Bk 5: Hunt for the Hero.
Will Nath Dragon be able to save his friends or will the Clerics of Barnabus’ plan succeed?
When Nath wakes from his changing sleep he finds that his appearance is not the only thing that has changed!
The adventure continues as our group of warriors are left with no choice but to seek out the head of those who are spreading evil, death and destruction.

Bk 6: Siege at the Settlements
Nath and his group continue on their quest to seek out the evil in charge of the Clerics of Barnabus, freeing towns and villages as they go but the clerics now know of Naths return and the efforts to capture and turn him increases.
There’s a repeated section in this audio, (where Nath challenges the grey scale)

Bk 7: Strife in the Sky
Nath has a task to complete alone to save his friends but things are not always as they seem, if Nath Dragon fails there will be far more at stake.
Evil is at play here to try to divide and defeat our heroes, the excitement is building as things are coming to a head.

Bk 8: Fight and the Fury
A surprising old friend reappears in this one and Nath appears to be making a habit of getting eaten.
There seem to be a lot of waiting in this one so not a lot was happening which made it drag a little but still a good listen/read.

Wrong category

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I would possibly recommend it to a child/parent as my kids (pre-teens) enjoyed it, personally I found it irritating with the idiotic sound effects and voices always in the background.

Good or bad

This could have been a good book except for the stupid sounds affects the delay between chapters witch spoiled the book for me
