About this listen

A brilliant new Christmas novel from Sunday Times best-selling author Trisha Ashley.

Meg is definitely not in the Christmas mood. She’s never gone in for tinsel, baubles and mistletoe, and right now she’s still getting over an illness. Yet when she’s invited to spend the run-up to Christmas in the snowy countryside rather than dreary London, she can’t refuse.

Arriving at a warm and cosy family home in a small hilltop village, Meg soon begins to wonder what a proper Christmas might be like. But just as she’s beginning to settle in, she spots a familiar face. Lex.

Despite the festive cheer, Meg suddenly wants nothing more than to get as far away from him, and their past secrets, as she can. But if she stays, could this be the year she finally discovers the magic of Christmas....?

Fabulously funny, intelligent and heart-warming, Trisha Ashley’s brand-new novel is the feel-good Christmas novel of the year. It even contains recipes!

Fab Christmas fun!

This is a book that I’ve both read on kindle and listened to in Audible and I think the latter is the best way to enjoy it!

The narrator has a mammoth task as this book has many characters of different sexes, ages and from different locations...yet she manages to breath life into all of them in a way that really add to the story!

This is a gentle read/listen but is one I’m happy to pick up each year in my countdown to Christmas! Pure escapism!

Enjoyable Christmas read

I did enjoy this book but did find some parts were repeated, perhaps a little to often but otherwise a good read

Trisha Ashley at her best

A wonderful story with quirky loveable characters that you wish would scoop you up and include you in their crazy life. A fabulous Christmas read but could be enjoyed all year round.

Voices detracted but still enjoyed story

Some of the voices, particularly that of Clara’s were very distracting as they didn’t feel quite right to me. She sounded more masculine than her husband did!! However, the story was enough to make me persevere

Quite enjoyable

Enjoyable Christmassy story. A little bit ploddy and some of the voices were a bit strange, especially Clara who sounded like an elderly gentleman with a bad cold! Still a pleasant listen and came to a delightfully predictable conclusion.
