About this listen

Caught up in the maelstrom following the death of an obscure rabbi in the Roman backwater of first-century Palestine, Leah finds herself also engulfed in her own turmoil - facing the prospect of an arranged marriage to a Roman soldier, Alban, who seems to care for nothing but his own ambitions. Head of the garrison near Galilee, he has been assigned by Palestine's governor to ferret out the truth behind the rumors of a political execution gone awry. Leah's mistress, the governor's wife, secretly commissions Leah also to discover what really has become of this man whose death - and missing body - is causing such furor.©2008 Janette Oke & Davis Bunn (P)2008 Oasis Audio Historical Romance Marriage

A very possible situation

If you could sum up The Centurion's Wife in three words, what would they be?

Biblical, Historical, endearing

What other book might you compare The Centurion's Wife to, and why?

Previous fiction on historical biblical fact.

Have you listened to any of Aimee Lilly’s other performances? How does this one compare?

This one is good

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When the Centurian realised who Jesus really is

Any additional comments?

Our 21st century lives and customs are so far removed from life under Roman rule and Jewish life, that these stories give an insight to how it was then and help us to understand the Bible better and that nothing is new under the sun.

Great story

I loved it. I couldn't stop listening to it. Follow a young woman through the intrigue within the palace gates and through her personal encounter with the resurrection of Jesus.

A great novel

I really enjoyed listening to this book. The storyline is interesting, characters of Leah and Alban inspiring and the narrator did a great job. I would recommend it to others.
