Summary

Presidential candidate Jane Kincaid - gorgeous, dynamic and extremely driven - is taking the country by storm, passionately outlining her blueprint for America. Voters quickly fall in love with her...and so, unwittingly, does Secret Service Agent Alexandria Warner.

Their mutual attraction begins to take on a fiery life of its own, and soon Jane fears that their intense feelings for each other are a tinder box that could destroy the landscape of her career...and alter the history of the country.

Jane had always expected the road to the White House would exact a high personal toll. She just never knew how high...until she's forced to choose between her heart and her political destiny.

Was ok

Yeah, was okay,, passionate with strong realism and believable characters, the last hour kind of let it down a bit, and the voice the narrator put on for Alex was borderline infuriating (speaking of Alex, I’m pretty sure the author made her in her own image)

slow burn

very, I don't mind, the writing explores the two problems of both a late-bian, and a high power job which may not (usually not), accept lgbtq,
frustrating to yell "just tell her", yet understandable in the circumstances. People offering good and bad advice, the media pressure , all add to the tension, but when life can be so short a mothers support for her daughters happiness, sways a decision that could end a career for love.
excellent narration by Lori Prince sexier than ever with a slow Southern drawl.

straight on to book 2

Good story

Nice story. I didn't like the tone of almost everyone voices accept from Jane's. And Alex's accent was just too much for my taste, she sounded like a redneck. It seemed to grow even thicker towards the end. And when mixed with this cliché slow motion talking, especially during love scenes was such a turnoff for me....

I really wanted to like this.

I tried to finish this but unfortunately the voice for Alex was just too much and I couldn't bring myself to finish it. The story itself was good and I really wanted to see how it ended. I'll maybe try and read it myself rather than listen.
