Amazing!

Wow! What a book and what a story.
It was heartwarming and lovely, sad but then so funny too.
The music was just perfect and fun too, I’ve never listened to a book quite like it.
Looking forward to the next one :-)

Lovely

A lovely story with some great musical numbers well performed. Was just a bit disappointed with Matt’s voice, wish he just performed it as himself rather than a childish voice. Lots of talent though, would love to see it on a stage!

Funny, sad, heartwarming.

We really loved listening to this in the car. It’s crying out to be made into a musical. Matt Lucas is super talented - writing all those songs as well as a great story.

Stunning - a masterpiece!

Matt Lucas - you are a genius talent! I laughed, I cried, I held my breath, I sighed with relief! I was totally hooked and moved at the same time. What a beautifully creative way to tell a story that every child and adult who has ever grieved a parent should hear. Thank you Baked Potato! 😌

Brilliant!

Great fun, a wonderful listen with children. Although there’s a sad part, there’s wonderful messages and brilliant songs. Hope it turns into a stage show!

My 7 year old loved it!

Bought for my 7 year old, who isn't aware of any of Matt Lucas's previous comedy, etc. My son loved the story. It's original and beautifully written for his age range. The story does touch on grief, which my son has not had to deal with yet, so he was comfortable with it and there are a lot of humorous moments that had my son laughing out loud. There are some really great songs (that my son has asked to listen to over and over again!) and some of the other songs just need skipping! But, to be honest, the few fantastic songs, make up for the boring, whiny ones which we fast forwarded through.

To summarise : The Boy who slept through Christmas is a really lovely children's book, which I would recommend.
