About this listen
A washed-up rock star, a single mother, and a marriage of convenience.
David Weston is done with the rock star lifestyle. After a decade of decadence, he moves back home to the country hamlet of Ocilla, Georgia, to rediscover who he always meant to be. But finding himself in the small town of his childhood is harder and lonelier than he thought it'd be.
Cassidy lost her husband and her life savings and is on the brink of losing her sanity. With three children to feed and no roof over their heads, she moves back in with her parents. Working two jobs and taking care of a family has exhausted every reserve she has, and with the medical bills piling up, she can't see a way forward.
When a friend signs Cassidy up for online dating, she finds herself face-to-face with her high school sweetheart, who just happens to be one of the biggest rock stars in the world.
He's rich, handsome, and kind. She's lonely, tired, and desperate. When he suggests a marriage of convenience, it doesn't take much to convince her to give it a try. But there's more to this relationship than either one is willing to admit.
A small-town, heartwarming, and laugh-out-loud romance that will give you all the feels. Perfect for fans of Debbie Macomber, Inglath Cooper, Carolyn Brown, and Catherine Bybee. This contemporary love story involves a rock star, a widow, three loveable children, a marriage of convenience, and plenty of spine-tingling kisses.

Cassidy and David's Second Chance
David Weston had one love in his life, he met her in high school, Cassidy the outgoing, beautiful cheerleader who he felt was so far above him. But then he got to date her and make love with her and all his dreams seemed to be coming true. Then she broke up with him leaving him devastated. He left town after Graduation and they never had any further contact although he has never quite forgotten her and has compared every woman he's dated since with the girl he loved back when......
Fast-forward twelve years, now he's a famous rock star and she's a widow.
David's had enough of his rock star lifestyle, the decadence, the meaningless hookups and the loneliness. So even though his parents are dead he's decided to move back home to his hometown Ocilla, Georgia, and try to find out what it is he really wants out of life. But once he's back in the small town he grew up in he feels like there's something missing, he misses having a family, but how can he find someone to love him for himself and not his money or his fame?
Cassidy lost her husband to cancer a year ago, her savings are gone but she still has his medical bills to pay. She's working two jobs but still can't provide for herself and her three children and to make matters worse she can no longer afford to keep a roof over their heads, she has to sell their home and they will have to move in with her parents. She's exhausted can't see a way out of the grind her life has become.
Fortunately for her, a friend puts her profile up on a dating site where the parties are looking to marry and manages to convince her to go meet someone. David has decided he wants to marry so, using a different name puts his profile onto the same dating site. As they both live in the same town a date is arranged - neither know who they are going to meet.
What happens next is a moving, well-written second chance story which has some funny and some emotional moments. The characters are well defined, initially, I liked David much more than I liked Cassie but to explain why would involve spoilers and I don't want to do that. What I will say is I enjoyed this story. I loved the connection formed between all of the characters. Seeing how all the individual relationships were formed was well done too. Does this second chance work out for them? I'm not saying - download this one you won't want to miss it. This is the third book in this email order series and although I have enjoyed them all, this one is my favourite.
Amanda Stribling did a wonderful job with the narration, she nailed each of the characters and brought them to life beautifully. She and Vivi Holt have a winning team going here.
