Summary

In an apocalypse, there is definitely a beginning where mistakes are made and the seeds of evil are allowed to sprout and take shape. However, an end is not so certain. Once an apocalypse occurs, not even death is certain. Sometimes, death is only the beginning.

At first light that morning, Dr. Lee steps into the Walton facility on the first day of human trials and can barely contain her excitement. The labs are brand spanking new and everything is sharp and clean. They've been built to her specifications and are a scientist's dream. It's where cancer is going to be cured once and for all.

By midnight, it's a place of fire, of blood, and of death - a death that, like the apocalypse, is seemingly never ending.

Intriguingly different

Im already use to already or near smack damn apoc outbreaks with little to no early info on how the zpoc starts out.

This first books basically tells that prequel story some novel like series tend to do after. So infected undead type Zpoc.

I got this copy as a game reward on fb from participating. I wasnt asked or given with the thought that im expectes to review so...by typing this out u can at least tell its worth a read or listen.

be wary of racial wording but you'll end up realizing this story has a diverse background of characters. lots of racial teases imo. not crazy but its stuff people take for granted n joke online or bully. something u find most on the news from The US.

my one dislike and yet not is how one of the main characters/side chacter n ofc others well it took em 3/4 of the book/story so far to figure out a headshot. o.o sure i suppose center mass is the deal. uh a sort of dislike was how a big time pharma company had barely any security, some which seemed more like bouncers n the head guys were military in background. i suppose those were the only spoilers.

i could believe though the story how everything crashes all cuz well hey greedy foreign power wants to sabotage etc. shiz happens bla bla bla. Ive come from extinction cylce so this is a change of pace.

i feel tho the law enforcement or the thought of those in lesser settings were slightly bashed almost seeming incompetemt but then again quiet towns n low crime makes for complacent police forces.

Um i feel maybe the character back grounds were uneeded, i mean feels like filler info just to be patient zeros down the line lol. but hey thats story build up i suppose. props to that either way.

im curious about the first scene n i suspect its the lil girl from the end haha but anyways

story wise the book gets 4/5
overall i give its 5/5
Performace 10/10 cuz imo it hits a lot of low key probs america faces and accepts. lots of shady deals n more so how society seems to be. Feels authentic and believably so that i found my self laughing at times others scoring or hating on characters and rooting for em.

i hope there is more military involvement n survival aspects after this n fighting to escape extinction etc. i got hooked soo i expect more action. It was worth the listen and participation. I hope you too will enjoy.

Well written, well read

Engaging from the start, and remained interesting right the way through. Great start to the story
