About this listen
What's a guy to do when his straight best friend proposes a fake marriage? Just say...yes!
Laurie Adams looked like he had it all, but his marriage was a sham, a Mr. Wrong chosen for all the wrong reasons. When his husband dies, Laurie has no time to mourn the cheating bastard, and his in-laws have decided Laurie isn't fit to raise his children, and they'll do anything to take them from him. He's lost his husband and his faith in people, but he won't lose his children, too. So he runs back home to the small farm town he'd left behind a decade ago.
Dean MacIntosh should be the perfect alpha for anyone, but all around town he's known as Mr. Not-Quite-Right, the last man a woman dates before she finds her real Prince Charming. It should bother him, but it doesn't. So when his childhood best friend comes running home for protection, Dean has no problem stepping in.
Except when Dean offered to fake marry Laurie, he never expected the wedding kiss to feel so sweet, and he begins to question the sexuality he once took for granted. From an awkward wedding night to an even more awkward honeymoon, Dean and Laurie find their affection runs deeper than either of them ever guessed. And maybe now is Dean's chance to be somebody's Mr. Right.
This audiobook contains mpreg, adults adulting in fun and sexy ways, and probably more potty-mouth language than should be used in an audiobook with kids underfoot. Eighteen-plus listeners only please.

Very interesting story with engaging narration
This was such an enjoyable 'friends to fake marriage to real marriage' story! Laurie and Dean were such sweethearts and the supporting characters were great, especially Kade, whose story is now on my list to read.
Laurie goes back to his childhood home to get away from the memory of his unfaithful husband and horrid in-laws. He falls back into the friendship he shared with Dean, even though he's always had a crush on Dean. Dean, for his part, has always considered himself straight, but when issues arise where Laurie's kids could be taken away, Dean steps in to marry him. The way the 2 men explore their feelings for each other is sweet and funny, with the right amount of mild misunderstanding.
The narration was quite good - Drew Bacca is new to me and I would definitely listen to his work again (I hope that if there is an audiobook for Kade's story, he is the narrator). He had different voices for the characters, had good pacing and projected the humour, sweetness and other emotions of the characters well. I was entertained!
I'm still a newbie to this trope (mpreg, non shifting shifters), but I really like it so far.
Even though I received this copy from the publisher, the opinions expressed were unsolicited and entirely my own.

Adorable story!
I loved both Dean and Laury right from the start. Laury moves back home after his husband passes away, where he reconnects with his best friend Dean.
When Laury's evil in laws threatenes to take away his children, Dean suggests that they get married.
This book has some laugh out loud moments as well as some heartwrenching moments too.
I think I have found another favourite narrator. Drew Becca done an amazing job with the narration and I highly recommend this book!

Oh what a great story!
I really loved this story and I hope to see more of these guys, maybe as we get Dean’s brothers story? Cross fingers.
I really liked the narration too. I could tell who was speaking when.
It was a great length with some ups and downs but the story really flowed, and the kids were gorgeous!

Sweet to listen to
I had already read this book, in ebook format and thought it was really good. But to have Drew Bacca bring the story to life with the narration was simply wonderful, I hope that all the MacIntoch Meadows series are done to this standard. Well Done.

Wonderful start to a new series
I loved this story, easily falling in love with all of the characters involved as well as disliking the bad guy of the story.
The farm that they live on and the community around them is described wonderfully by Susi and Drew.
The emotions brought out by the story lines throughout the book are easily felt and draw you into the tale even more, making you more involved in the outcome for the family.
Susi has made a great start in the MacIntosh Meadows series and I look forward to enjoying all of the characters again, the sense of family being a big draw for me.
Drew Bacca has done a great job in narrating this book. I was drawn right in from the start, finding his voice very easy to listen to. There is enough difference between the characters voices to know who is who and when they're talking. The emotional moments, both upsetting and happy are done well, giving a great voice to a wonderful story.
I received an ARC and am giving an honest opinion of the book.

Especially with Laurie and Dean the mcs of this story. It was extremely funny in places especially Kade and Zeke and their bets. It was a well written story that sets you up for wanting and needing more it's a best friends to lovers story with lots loving and laughter along way.
