Summary

Harlan Coben was voted winner of the Bestseller Dagger at the 2009 Crime Writers' Association's Crime Thriller awards .

Eight years ago David Beck was knocked unconscious and left for dead, and his wife Elizabeth was kidnapped and murdered.

For the next eight years Dr Beck re-lived the horror of what happened that day every day of his life. Then one afternoon, he receives an anonymous e-mail telling him to log on to a certain web-site at a certain time, using a code that only he and his wife knew. The screen opens on to a web cam - and it is Elizabeth's image he sees. Is it a practical joke?

But as Beck tries to find out if Elizabeth is truly alive, and what really happened the night she disappeared, the FBI are trying to pin Elizabeth's murder on him. And everyone he turns to seems to end up dead?

Shockingly poor narration!

What a shame, a fabulous story absolutely slayed by horrendous narration! The accents, voice attempts and general narration pace was awful. Ruined this whole book for me. I would rather read it than listen to this narrator again.

Kept my interest to the end

A bit corny and daft accents by the reader but it kept me listening to find out what it was all about. The end wasn’t entirely satisfying but I’ll give the author another go.

Bloody Brilliant!

I decided to try this as I had seen The Stranger on TV and really enjoyed it. This is my first audible book from Harlan Coben and I listened to it in one sitting. The reader was very good and added to the plot and characters. I can’t recommend it more.

Dance of many veils

Having watched a couple of TV adaptations and several friends reading Coben books, I thought I should give him a go and selected one if his most popular ones. I was not disappointed. As each veil of the mystery is taken away it reveals several more veils underneath. Just as you work out what's going on, you're surprised by what is going on, or may be going on. All this whilst an exciting thriller is played out.

Tell Everyone

having read this as a hardback, I've always loved this book. The first book of Harlan Coben that I read. And has kept me hooked on all his stand alone stories ever since 2002

The very end makes a nonsense of the story

Would you try another book written by Harlan Coben or narrated by Tim Machin?

No I wouldn't.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

The end made a nonsense of the whole preceding story.

Have you listened to any of Tim Machin’s other performances? How does this one compare?

No I haven't.

Did Tell No One inspire you to do anything?

Not read any more Harlan Coben novels, I don't like his manipulation of the audience, it's hard to comment without including a spoiler so I'll just say I was very let down.

Any additional comments?

I know this guy is a very successful author, but if this book is anything to go by I'm not at all sure why.
