Critic reviews

" Talk Less, Say More is packed with powerful advice to get your points across and make things happen in today's time-pressed world. Connie's forward-thinking, actionable communication shortcuts can elevate anyone's game." (Bruce Carbonari, Chairman and CEO, Fortune Brands)
"Connie Dieken is a true communication virtuoso and a genuine phenomenon. She is on a mission to elevate our ability to communicate. Talk Less, Say More should be required for all leaders and emerging leaders. (Robert Johnson, Managing Counsel, McDonald's Corporation)
"Yes, the actual book is phenomenal (I have it too); but hands down, the audio version is the smart buy. Best business communication book I've ever read made better on audio. NOT all the same tired principles from every communication book with slightly new faces. A unique perspective filled with proven tactics. I like to retain and then employ useful information. Listening in my car and on my mp3 player has turned this from a great book into a rally point in my career. Read by the author who is a former TV personality, news anchor and voice-over specialist - the book on audio is stunning. What a powerful communication tool and absolutely a keeper. Connie Dieken's book Talk Less, Say More is nothing short of brilliant." (Rick Hubbell, President, Rick Hubbell Business Growth Services)

Review of Talk Less Say More

By Connie Dieken

Warren Buffet is one of the richest men of our time, he is not just a good investor, he has impeccable communication skills. Being good at our craft without the communication package can cause the souffle to collapse and then it makes little difference that we have the best ingredients in it. It is all about how we fold it in and that is what ‘Talk Less Say More’ is about, it is that delicate folding in of our message.

We live in a very busy, information overload, attention deficit world where so much is vying for people’s attention. Bevity is the name of the game in this world and this simple book with useful tips teaches us how to serve it in small doses. Some of what Connie said are pretty obvious but I don’t think we lose out by being reminded of the basic communication tips such as how to cut out waffling, front loading our presentation, using story telling to get our point across, rule of three etc.

Like anything in life, if we take communication for granted, pay no attention to our delivery, assume we are good we fail to make the necessary impact but when we invest our time and put some effort we become better and impactful communicators. Connie Dieken in Talk Less Say More helps to get our voice and message to the top of the pack.

It boils down to connect, convey and convince.

This book reminds me of Dale Carnegie ‘s Book (How To Win Friends and Influence people) in it's seemingly simplicity yet effective strategies. Atimes it is those simple things in life that makes or breaks us. When we realise these Strategies are used by renowned communicators like President Bill Clinton, one of the richest men of our times Warren Buffet, civil rights extraordinaire activist Martin Luther King Jr then it is time for us to sit up, pay attention and take notes.
