Summary
A Gripping serial killer thriller
How can you outrun a killer you won’t see coming?
They are the most violent, blood-thirsty, and vicious of criminals. While hunting for them, FBI profilers call these monsters UNSUBS, short for "unknown subjects of ongoing investigations". At any given time, in the United States there are more than 50 serial killers at large, preying on vulnerable, unsuspecting victims.
Until yesterday, no one knew Florida had another serial killer on the loose. Special Agent Tess Winnett calls this particularly elusive one the "Taker of Lives".
The crimes: bewildering.
After a well-known model commits suicide, Tess refuses to accept the findings and pushes for an investigation into the reasons behind the beautiful young woman’s decision to end her life. What she finds surpasses her wildest fears.
The evidence: disturbing.
Each new crime scene brings more questions than answers. While secrets are revealed, even those meant to be kept forever in the dark, Tess can draw only one conclusion: She’s not the one in charge; the Taker of Lives controls the game, the players, even the course of the investigation.
The race: intense.
With little information and even less evidence, Tess must connect the dots of a deadly scenario with a large number of potential victims. If she fails, another beautiful, young girl will die tonight, and the blood will be on her hands.
The Taker of Lives might be closer than you think. Who’s watching you sleep tonight?
The best-selling author of Las Vegas Girl is back with another suspenseful, gripping crime thriller. If you’re a fan of David Baldacci, Melinda Leigh, and James Patterson, you will enjoy Leslie Wolfe’s engrossing police procedural that will keep you listening until dawn.

I couldn’t put these down
I loved the last 2 books in the series narrated by Andrew, so jumped straight onto this. Full of mystery and serial killer intensity.
Great characters and story and the narration is brilliant with great character voices and Andrew really bring out the atmosphere. I can’t wait to listen to the other books!!
This is my honest opinion on a free review copy.

Great Read
Taker of Lives (Special Agent Tess Winnett #4) was a great read by Leslie Wolfe. FBI profilers call the most violent and vicious criminals, UNSUBS. It is short for unknown subjects of ongoing investigations. Florida seems to have another serial killer on the loose. Special Agent Tess Winnett calls this killer the Taker of Lives. A well known model commits suicide, Tess refuses to accept what they find. Each crime scene brings more and more answers. I enjoyed reading this book and can't wait to read more by the author.

Take the book and enjoy
I really enjoyed this book and this series, so much so that after reading it I just had to add it to my audio book collection. Leslie Wofle is a talented author and like her other books I listened to this book in a day, as I didn't want to put it down. So be prepared to lock the door.
In this day and age with social media and celebrities famous for just being famous, it is scary how easy it is for things to be manipulated or corrupted. In this book Special Agent Tess Winnett tags along on a suicide case. Its not long before something is telling her it needs to be looked into more and not to just write of as a tragic senseless death of a beautiful young women, and when she and the team start dig its not long before they make it onto the killers radar and the bodies start to build up with no way to stop them. With the power of the internet on the killer's side can Tess and her team come up with a profile and a victim list to stop the killer. With her usual twists and clues it was a very good read and I would recommend the book.
I liked the narrator, he did a good job of portraying the characters but it did seem strange having a male when the main characters is female.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

An excellent story, brilliantly narrated
I hadn't read the book before listening to this audiobook, but this made no difference as it's such an excellent story, brilliantly narrated by Andrew Tell, that it swept me up and kept me entranced from beginning to end. So much so, I've listened to it three times so far and am already listening to it again! I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who likes murder-mysteries and psychological thrillers, and I can't wait to read (and listen to!) more books in the series!
NB I received a complimentary copy of this book, but I always give an HONEST review based wholly on my own opinions

Leslie Wolfe knows how to write scary stories!
Not scary as in horror but as in real life hide behind locked doors ! This case has gone on quite long for FBI agent Tess Wynette and her whole team is having a hard time to even be able to profile their criminal, The Taker of Lives. I have to admit that I did think of a part of the profile that Tess didn't but lol I would never want to be in her position of trying to figure out who is guilty. This is another great book and it's nice to see that Tess's life might head into a new direction.

I love Leslie Wolfe Books but this narrator is awful. Overdramatic with melodrama. Will screen audiobooks in future, not paying money for this narrator
