Summary

Embrace your fate.

It's time.

Evil is running rampant, and sweet Anna Whitt is its target. Nobody knows when or how the Dukes will strike, but Anna and her Nephilim allies will do anything necessary to rid the earth of the demons and their oppressive ways.

The stakes are higher than ever, and Anna is determined that the love she feels will be her strength, not a liability. But trying to protect the ones she loves while running for her life and battling demonic forces proves to be perilous - especially as faces are changing and trust is fleeting. When the Duke of Lust sends Anna's great love, Kaidan Rowe, to work against her, Anna must decide how much she's prepared to risk.

In the most sensual and fast-paced installment yet, Sweet Reckoning brings all the beloved Neph together one last time to fight for their freedom.

Good story - not so sure about the reader...

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

The final chapter in the Sweet triology was good - but not great.

Earlier in the year the end of the Divergent triology left me raging with anger, as it was just THAT BAD. A few weeks ago the ending of the Partials triology left me smiling and happily content. It pretty much tied up all loose ends and had a great finale too.

The end of the Sweet trilogy was, well, meh!. I'd been hoping for so much, but most of the book just seemed to be about sex, sex, sex - and wanting to have sex, sex, sex.

Don't get me wrong, the very last chapter ALMOST had me in tears, but I'd loved these characters sooo much over the years that ANY sentimental stuff would have set me blubbing.

To put it in a nutshell: Too much sex, too little time spent with/on the demons. From book one I had expected an epic WAR between heaven and hell - huge, intense, all-encompassing.

Sweet Reckoning didn't have a war. It didn't even have a Harry Potter meets Voldemort. It just had a party in a nightclub with a few naughty clubbers....

Good, but not great.

ALSO: The reader on this audio book was pretty much awful. She sounded so choked up with emotion at some points that I thought she was having an asthma attack. There was literally a gargle from her during one dramatic scene - surely that could have been edited out?

Who was your favorite character and why?

Kai - great hero/anti-hero.

If this book were a film would you go see it?

No
