Summary
Survivors is the all-new soul-shattering climax to the postapocalyptic trilogy, featuring a deadly virus, military action, global devastation - and zombies.
A lot can change in three months: Wars can be decided, nations can be forged...or entire species can be brought to the brink of annihilation. The Morningstar Virus, an incredibly virulent disease, has swept the face of the planet, infecting billions. The infected hosts rampage, attacking anything that remains uninfected. Even death can’t stop the virus - its victims become frightening and deadly cannibals. Scattered across the world, embattled groups have persevered. For some, surviving is the pinnacle of achievement. Others hoard goods and weapons. And still others leverage power over the remnants of humanity in the form of a mysterious cure for Morningstar. For the survivors, the peril remains, and the search for a cure goes on....

NOTHING NEW HERE BUT.....
What made the experience of listening to Survivors the most enjoyable?
Yeah Ive heard it all before..it is yet another zombie book but well written and a great performance. Its not on such an epic scale as the Passage for example but is more realistic.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Denton
What does Oliver Wyman bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
Great narrator
Any additional comments?
If you like sci fi or just a good story then get this series of books. Its not heavy listening and dosnt blow your mind with science.

End of an Epic End of the World
A great ending to this amazing Zombie epic, characters come and characters go but the story flies along at its pace heading towards its exciting climax. Shamblers, Sprinters and the Re-united states forces all trying to kill the Survivors!! Surprise deaths and tragic attempts to live through the end of the world keep you enthralled, helped with the great story telling ability of Mister Wyman to help keep your excitement on a rolling boil.

Shocked to Know the Writter isn`t with us any more
What made the experience of listening to Survivors the most enjoyable?
This Trilogy is excellent!! I loved every printed word. The whole Zombie plague really seems real in this one. Plus the military, means BIG scenes of mass destruction and carnage. A total Holly Wood movie waiting to happen and it would kick World War Z`s Ass.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Survivors?
Just the dialog between characters made it for me. They felt like living breathing human beings you could identify with trying to survive.
What about Oliver Wyman’s performance did you like?
Absolutely everthing, the guy can across as all the character. but I feel Brewster was waylaid in the third instalment.
If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
The Real Zombocolipse Begins.
Any additional comments?
I really miss Z A Recht. He wrote Zombie survival like he was there. I prey for his family and thank their son for bringing me such an enjoyable read.

Such a shame that Z A Recht died...
Any additional comments?
Such a shame that Z A Recht died so young - only 26. I strongly urge you to read this trilogy. One of the best series in the genre in my opinion...

Excellent end to an excellent series
Put simply Thom Brannan finishes off Z.A Recht's series in fine style showing a genuine empathy with the original author's vision and the post apocalyptic world that he created.
If you liked the first two, the choice is clear, just buy it!

Random zombifications
Major characters and storylines just forgotten about mid book, and characters who are killed then coming back as zombies even though they haven’t been bitten of scratched and no explanation to why that happens now.

Poor end to a good series
Let's face it, if you listened to the other two books in the series, you're guaranteed to get the final part. It only makes sense. You need closure. You want to know what happens to your favourite rag-tag gang of survivors and their potentially immune friend, Right! That's what Recht and Brannan must have been banking on because this final book in the series is a formulaic ending with shoot-outs (come on, they don't work on the printed page, only on TV), sacrifices and killings from the grave (though it's never quite explained how one of the main characters who doesn't appear to get bitten comes back as a zombie to exact revenge) and a good-ol' fist punching ending with the unlikely hero riding off into the sunset. It's listenable and completes the picture, but if this had been the opening book in the series, I would probably not have got the other two.
