About this listen
I have a feeling we're all going to need a little therapy after this.
He survived the Rwandan genocide to become an NBA legend. I survived a few hours of truly amateur torture to become the guy who falls apart when someone drops a tray of dishes.
We both volunteer at my brother-in-law’s gym for combat vets, and we’ve been circling each other for a year now.
It’s possible that pairing a seven-foot wall of sunshine with me—the guy who gets snarky about that one time I got waterboarded—might just be the mother of all bad ideas.
An even worse idea? Let’s add a splash of kink to the mix.
Damn, but I feel safe when he puts his arms around me.
Surrender is a post-military hurt-comfort MM romance with gentle power exchange, a therapy office set next to a sex club, and a gym full of meddling, scorching-hot veterans.
This is the second book in the Wrecked series. Jake and Jean-Pierre first appear in Scout and the Lavender Girl.

Wonderful!
The Story :
A very well crafted romance between Jean-Pierre, who is just full of sunshine and Jake who is beautifully dark grump. The ex NBA Star and the yoga instructor both volunteer at a gym for combat veterans. These wonderfully complex main characters have buckets of chemistry between them and once it sparks the heat level hits high.
So many feels to this. It’s hurt/comfort with light kink, a dash of drama and a great cast of side characters who provide some light relief.
The Narration:
The narration by John Solo is superb. He is a great fit for the characters and clearly differentiates between them, especially the accents for Jean-Pierre and his parents. The tone and cadence for each are maintained throughout the entire book and it is a wonderful listen.

Great characters and performance
I found Jean-Pierre one of the most intriguing characters in Wrecked and couldn't wait to get his story here. I couldn't wait for him and Jake to get together but Jake's reluctance to fully commit made perfect sense and Jean-Pierre's understanding and patience was lovely. I've read the entire series and this is the only book that had a major surprise for me in it that leads to a bang-up conclusion. I was delighted by it and by the way all the other members of the gym family behaved. All the people you came to love in the first book are back in this one. John Solo is doing a magnificent job with this series. All the characters are coming to life just like I wanted them to from the book - only better. He's gotten inside their heads and knows them so well.

Loved this
This was a reread for me, i truly love Jake and Jean-Pierre’s story. While this book tackles ptsd it is also full of Kelly’s trademark sark, whit, and funny’s
John solo brought something extra to the table and I fell for Jake and Jean-Pierre all over again. These two work so well together, supporting and healing each other. Having read Kelly’s previous books you can tell they have strong feelings for each other and it is certainly emotional when they finally get together.
As always the wreaked family are there with their support, comfort, banter and of course their $5 bets

Another flawless book and audio
Story: While set in the same brilliant found family setting as book one, this story has a completely different feel! It’s an emotional journey of two wounded souls and the backgrounds created for the MCs are amazingly unique! The dynamics between the pair and the language used in the book make it a total binge read. I was unable to put the book down!
Narration: Another great performance from John Solo that fit the characters to a t! Pure pleasure to listen

Amazing Listen
Jake and Jean-Pierre’s story is so fulfilling. Both men suffer from PTSD and the way they care for each other is beautiful.
Fox develops fantastic found-family at Wrecked (as in all her books) and excels at writing intensely meaningful dialogue.
Solo’s performances are exquisite, as he infused so much personality into each character.
I adored the book when it came out in print and now I have fallen in love with it all over again with this audio.
