Summary

All new - escape to Dorset and the beautiful Chesil Beach with best-selling author Della Galton.

Talented yet relatively unknown actress and celebration cake baker extraordinaire Olivia Lambert is running out of time.

Approaching 40, she’s yet to land the role that will launch her television career, and she’s desperate to be a mum.

Her new man, Phil Grimshaw from the Bluebell Cliff Hotel, seems the perfect match but seems to be in no rush to settle down.

Having ditched her childhood sweetheart and fiancé, Tom Boyd, when he backtracked about being a dad, Olivia dreads making the same mistake again.

Rocked by confessions from both her sister Ruby and Tom, Olivia knows it’s time to make some life-changing decisions.

Then a terrifying incident off Chesil Beach changes the course of her future and brings Olivia to question everything she values and loves.

*Deal Breaker*

Olivia Lambert has one wish, that wish is to have a child. She spent over 10 years with Tom a wealthy businessman who then changed his mind about having children. It was a dealbreaker for Olivia so she ended that relationship.

Olivia is a budding actress and like a lot of thespian’s they have secondary jobs while waiting for the next part. She has a cake making business which is doing well but her dream is to act and have a child but at 39 she feels she is running out of time.

Whilst on a acting job she meets Phil Grimshaw a fellow actor in the making who works at the Bluebell Cliff hotel as their Maître d, as much as they agree to take things slowly she knows in her heart that there is something special about him. They are both guarded but does he feel the same?

Just as things are going well she is faced with a revelation from her sister, her ex rocks back into town with a proposition and a near fatal incident at the beach shocks Olivia to make some decisions. She surprises herself. with a dealbreaker of her own…

A lovely escapism read with a beautiful setting all around the Dorset beaches, a great summer light read.

Loved it.

But if escapism for me. Nice story and I really liked the narrator. Having been to this part of the country I could picture where they were.

Disappointing

This book has good reviews. But I found it rather boring. I was waiting for something really exciting to happen in Olivia's life , other than struggling actress, love life with Phil, plus hens and Ruby's baby. It didn't materialise unfortunately. So with what I thought was a weak storyline, I was pleased to get to the end.

OK. Good story

A nice, easy read but boring in places. A, simple conversation on the beach for example went on forever with lots if describing things around etc.
