Summary

They were coming to tell ghost stories - ' tales to freeze the blood' was the only rule. Switzerland, 1816, on a stormy summer night. Lord Byron and his guests are gathered round the fire.

Felix, their serving boy, can't wait to hear their creepy tales, yet real life is about to begin. Frantic pounding at the door reveals a girl covered in scars, and the girl is terrified!

Promising start

an excellent start, really engaging and right up my street, but then I found the rest did not live up to my expectation of a Gothic tale. still, enjoyable. I don't understand why the young character could have been taken and not say she already has a family.

How 2 stories became one

I liked how Lizzie wasn’t the only one unusual and that the wolf was set free in the end

Absolutely loved this. I finished it too quickly, because it was so good! Loved the link with real history.

This is the perfect story for those wanting to read an age appropriate scary story with children-recommend for UKS2, Y7 and maybe Y8 depending on the reader.
