About this listen

I used to be a normal high school girl but in the blink of an eye, I woke up in a place I've never seen before and-and I was reborn as a spider?! How could something that's nothing more than a tiny spider (that's me) possibly survive in literally the worst dungeon ever? Are there no rules? There should be some rules! Who the hell is responsible for this? SHOW YOUR FACE!

fantastic series, translation and narration *****

loved the anime, so glad the light novels are translated and performed fantastically in English. the books shed much more light on the mysteries of this series, looking forwards to the 3rd volume next week, and hopefully many more to come!

Another great adaptation

Without realising until recently this is my sixth Yen Audio audiobook this year. All their adaptations are excellent and this is no exception. I know the main story from the anime version but this is the best way to experience the story.

So, It's Really Good, So What

The story is really we done, fun, and captivating. But what makes a story even better when buying it on Audible? The Narration. And I must say that this is one of the best narrated audiobooks I've ever listened too, and I'll definitely be buying more from Yen Audio.

Two stories woven together, one great, and one middling

First of all, the performance is great. Secondly, the unique selling point is the story of the Spider, and that part is very fun. Sadly the story will regularly switch to a secondary story that is an absolute snooze fest. Not sure what the author wanted to achieve, but seems they just lacked the vision to achieve it. It's possible to make stories that explore human fragility while still being interesting (e.g. Ascendance of a bookworm, where a librarian is isekaied into a world without books and a frail sickly body leaving her at the mercy of others for everything). I'm 30 books deep into ascendance of a bookworm and have read many of the books more than once. Despite sharing a setting that is at least similar on a cosmetic level, I can barely stomach the secondary story in "So I'm a Spider so what?" on account of all the characters being so painfully, bewilderingly, terible to exist in the presence of. I want to buy the paperback so I can take scisors to every chapter containing the spiteful secondary story.

Very enjoyable

I really enjoyed this book and the person reading it is great at doing the voices and tones of the different characters.

Great listen

Was worried going into this after watching the anime a few years ago. not sure I would want to go back to back but it definitely does enough to distinguish itself.
