Summary
A darkness approaches that only a fae can stop.
Evil forces threaten to cover the human world with darkness. The faerie world is dependent on the human world’s survival or they, too, will perish. Shayna, a faerie warrior of the light, is sent to the human world to prevent that from happening and must convince a human to help her.
When she reveals her true self to Detective Pierce Cochran, his world is thrust upside down. Everything he believed to be a fairy tale is true.
The faerie and the detective join forces against a growing number of demons and vampires, enlisting the help of an assortment of creatures Pierce didn’t know existed. Magic and weaponry collide as the mis-matched group of warrior’s race toward the final battle.

The fate of the world is in her hands
I enjoyed this book. This is the first book in the series and the first book by this author that I have listened to but it won't be the last as I really enjoyed it. There was so much going on that it kept and held your interest until the last word and contained everything from fairies to vampires, battles until the death to romance, betrayal to friendship, magic to alcohol. This book has got it all. The characters were so varied and different but there was some great characters in the mix like the witch and ones I am going to enjoy catching up with in the next book. You can tell the author had fun writing this book and I can't wait to start the next.
The human world is in trouble and doesn't even know it. Only a Fae warrior can save it and by doing so save the Fae world that it is connected to. Shayna is sent to the human world by her Queen to find a pure human to help in her battle. The choice is taken out of her hands when she arrives in New York to find the aftermath of a vampire attack and the human detective standing over the body. Sensing the goodness in him she puts her trust in him and his two colleges. Can she train them and unit the rest of the magic community for the battle of there lives? Because demons and vampires don't fight fair and aren't worried about human casualties.
Amy Deuchler is such a great narrator and she is the reason I gave this book ago. I knew with her reading it I was going enjoy the book, she always does a good job with bringing the characters to life.

Let the fai bind you
This is my first listen from the author , this audio was non stop action from the first sentence till the very end . Once I saw the title I knew I would love it . Mankind needs to be saved and there is a war going on between the fai and the vampire race . Mankind needs to decide who they are going to back . The strong female in the fai race is Shayna . Shayna makes things happen . Shayna and Pierce Cochran a human , who is a NYC detective find love between the two races will have you to continue to listen and route for both of them
The narrator Amy Deuchler was great. She has a strong clear voice. She’s smooth and says the words slowly so people can understand them
