Summary
Major Sharpe finds himself a fugitive, hunted by enemy and ally alike.
Major Richard Sharpe awaits the opening shots of the army’s campaign with grim expectancy. For victory depends on the increasingly fragile alliance between Britain and Spain – an alliance that must be maintained at any cost.

Enjoyable romp
excellent listen read with familiar gusto a few twists and turns with the expected outcome. suspend belief for a few hours savage enjoyment

Very good - and very well done.
There have been some stalling moments in this series. Sharpes gold and Sharps sword were a little slow. This was a break from battle / setback / battle / setback / battle / final win formula that had marked the series to this point.
I think Richard Sharpe deserved the ending this story had. And the pace, detail, plot, characters and subtext was all superb.
I’m really starting to appreciate the production. Rupert Farley really does well as the English gent (screeching ’Sharpe!’ When there’s backchat) Spanish officer, partisan, northern Yorkshire Sharpe (a bit of a Sean Bean impression clashing with the Wapping originn story of the pre TV books) and northern / southern Irish and even Scottish. Good pace and emphasis on the narration.
I enjoyed this book, both story and production. You’d need to cover the story up to this point to get it - so it’s not really stand alone. But it’s a great addition to what’s shaping up to be a pretty dynamic and solid saga. And I can’t wait to start the next one… that I’m going to do right now!!

A good Sharpe story, well read

Yes, it is an enjoyable listen.

one of the best
One of the best yet, if like me you've read or listened to all of the series I thought this one was perhaps one of my favourites. It starts with a gloomy Sharpe, has the usual twists and turns, revenge battles throughout and the usual love interest, (the one area that the character seems terrible at) and ends triumphantly (as do they all). Great narration as ever, God save Ireland!

Honourable Sharpe indeed
An often overlooked entry in the Sharpe series, this book is a classic; it has it all, betrayals, battles and intrigue, Sharpe's Honour is a must for any who are curious as to the adventures of Major Richard Sharpe!
