As a family of the card game, well impressed!
I was provided a free copy of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review.
As someone who has played many games of the Sentinels card game, I was very interested to check out the books and I'm pleased to say I was not disappointed.
Superhero tales can be very unbalanced due to superpowers but I felt that the protagonists were well balanced and it felt more like a pulp superhero tale than any crazy, over-the-top Marvel silliness.
This isn't to say it was lacking in action, far from it, but the story was very well written, paced and. narrated excellently.

Out of this world
I normally listen to cozy mysteries but fancied a change. I have never been into comics but I have watched the Avengers films so thought I would given this book ago. Glad I did because I enjoyed it and have already downloaded the next book in the series. It is action packed and didn't let up until the end, very much like the film's. It is a real good against evil battle with the old character you are not to sure of. From the sample and the picture I did think the story was going to be more of a tounge in check story but that wasn't the case, it did have some nice one liners but was more action than comedy.
A new team of super heroes is forming just in the nick of time because they will have to fight the most deadliest villain earth has ever seen. The Warlord is back and looking for more power to control his minions using mind control and he has discovered a power source currently in the care of Esro Brachis, a brilliant inventor and friends and mentor to three other super hero's. Lyn a college student who only recently found out she had powers, Ultraa a hero with no past and memory but a civilian hero and Damon a ladies man with an eye to fame. Can they stop the Warlord dead in his tracks? Or is there more going on than even he knows?
I liked the narrator and thought he put his voice to good use giving each character very different sounding voices.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request from audiobooksunleashed and have voluntarily left this review.

Sentinels vol. 1 review by Albert Anness
I thought this was an amazing story, I'm a fan of superheroes and I thought this was a great superhero tale, the narration was very good it had such an intense and heroic feel to it making just crave for more, the story was really well done it was so realistic in its interactions of the characters to how these could play out in real life and making them all so relatable, it also went into so much detail that I could easily picture what is happening, the characters all too were very relatable and likeable in their own rights, I particularly liked Ultraa, I really like his genuine heroic and noble nature, characters such as Lynn too were very relatable too many in real life, the Warlord was also such a brilliantly over the top villain giving off that impression of a ruthless, pompous dictator, it's also interesting on his it explores possibilities of things had they turned out differently, like the third Reich like what if the Nazis won which is a rather scary thought, overall I really enjoyed this story and I'd highly recommend it to anyone interested especially those interested in the superhero genre.
