Summary
When Lilian finds a parcel on her grandad's doorstep, she is shocked to see who sent it: a famous Egyptologist, found dead that very morning!
The mysterious package holds the key to a story about a king whose tomb archaeologists are desperately hunting for. Lilian and her friends must embark on an incredible journey to return the package to its resting place, to protect those they love, and to break the deadly pharaoh's curse.

I read this story at school. My teacher reads it to us. It’s linked to our topic: Mummies Alive. Some times I keep the next chapter in my head and I can remember it in the morning at story time.

AMAZING book 😄😄😄📖📖📖
I love the story and how it was written. So interesting I couldn't stop listening and I just had to know what happened next. It really makes me wonder if the anchant Egyptians have many secrets yet to be told.

Could be better
I love listening to this story secrets of a sun king but I feel if it had a different person telling the story would make it more exciting . Victoria Fox kept changing the voice for Lil (Lillian)one time she did a soft voice which I liked for her but the she Where’s Professor haniwti now in quite a baby voice like a annoying toddler would say . But don’t take this to heart it is just my opinion . You still did well .It was 90%there .

A great piece of fiction of a real event.
This was listened to within our Egyptian studies and it really helped us to consolidate some of the details that we had read about Egypt, and the discovery of Tutankhamen, It really helped us to remember key characters from history, and brought the whole story to come alive. This was a great story, but more than that, it was a piece of fiction that teaches and helps to create a passion within adults and children alike.

Enjoyable
Emma Carroll’s historical fiction is second to none, but something about this story just didn’t quite resonate with me - I can’t put my finger on it exactly but it just felt like a story that was written for the last few pages, without enough filling along the way. Perhaps I didn’t identify with any characters properly or just the setting didn’t capture my imagination... Carroll has definitely written better - but this would be a decent Class Text for UKS2 studying the Egyptians.
