About this listen
Is there room for love in a heart full of secrets? One year ago, before Fate took a wrecking ball to his life, Nichol was happily working on his doctorate in linguistics. Now he's hip deep in sheep, mud, and collies. His late brother and mother had been well-suited to life on Seacliff Farm. Nichol? Not so much.
As lambing season progresses in the teeth of an icy north wind, the last straw is the intruder Nichol catches in the barn. He says his name is Cam, and he’s on the run from a Glasgow gang. Something about the young man's tired resignation touches Nichol deeply, and instead of giving him the business end of a shotgun, he offers Cam a blanket and a place to stay. Somehow, Cam quickly charms his way through Nichol's defenses and into his heart. Even his grandfather takes to the cheeky city boy, whose hard work and good head for figures help set the farm back on its feet. As the cold Scottish springtime melts into summer, Nichol finds himself falling in love. When tragedy strikes, Cam's resolutely held secret is finally revealed and Nichol must face the truth. He's given his heart away, and it’s time to pay the price.

Eilean Arainn
A splendid story, engaging from the outset. The author’s use of pathetic fallacy and the integrity of the character development would have made my old English teacher beam like the summer sun on Arran.
The description of the island is entrancing and the depiction of sheep farm life enlightening.
The narration is outstanding and the narrator’s pacing consummate. ‘Tis grand to hear the Gaelic, too.

Beautiful story set in wonderful surroundings.
Harper Fox has a great feeling for the landscapes the stories are set in. I hope this comes from visiting those wonderful places. I think that is the case. I certainly want to explore them, but probably in summer when it comes to our northern most islands. The characters are well created and believable and the plot keeps me listening even if a bit predictable. But in a good way. In these times it's good to have a happy ending.

So much more than I expected!
I picked this out expecting an amusing raunchy story to listen to whilst commuting. But it is so much more than the clumsy erotic fiction I had anticipated.
The language is beautiful, the descriptions gentle and full, leading the listener into the world of both the island landscape and the minds of the characters.
The erotic bits are described with a detailed poetry, resonating with experience and understanding of the emotional experience of sexual desire.
With a plot more complex than I’d expected too, I looked forward to every chance I had to listen.
Top marks also to the narration - beautiful to listen to.

Dour but fascinating Gallic Yarn
I know nothing about the western isles of Scotland but the readers accent and pronunciation of Gallic terms is most endearing. It draws you in with the poetic writing of the text. You feel the winter wind and rain as well as the remoteness of the setting. The plot fits the scenery too. Loved the whole story right to the last paragraph

Great book
I really loved this book. The story was heartwarming with great characters. The narrator was great with the portrayal of each character. My only complaint is that sometimes the narrator would have a conversation or thought and then without pause immediately begin a completely different thought that was days or weeks into the future. I would be caught off guard and would realise the story had moved on to something else. This didn't take away from the book, however.

Beautiful Celtic romance read beautifully
Sean Gormley made this very well written romance a sheer pleasure to listen to... romance with a western Isles back drop that happens to be between two men was beautiful... read in a (almost) native accent - genius! more stories read by Sean Gormley please!!

Enjoyed the Story
Good story line as well as being well read here on Audible, and enjoying the Gay.country romance.

Not quite as expected.
Quite a sweet story, set on the island of Arran. Although I found the long detailed description of the country side and the sex to be florid and overdone. They ended up making a somewhat overlong and gripping storyline into a poor attempt at ‘literature’. Sometimes, less is more.
Good narration held my interest.

It took some time(chapters) to warm up….
The story of Harry, Cam and Nichol didn’t got to me direct from page one.
The first around two chapters I was always thinking, if I would get the connection to my first Harper Fox publication…..
My biggest surprise was at around half of the book masters when I realised, the author is a female writer….
And here one of my 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 reason:
Harper Fox told the entire story, in the joyful, sad and highly erotic moments not one word using to let me think oh yeah, that’s typical female attempt to write about gay love and sex.
I had to stop listing when I was in public, because the wild, intimate and very much boner growing in no time parts have touched me very much….a very good and erotic audiobook.
Thank you….
