Dr. Suzanne Zeedyk
About this listen
This guide, written and narrated by developmental psychologist Dr Suzanne Zeedyk, introduces listeners to attachment - babies' innate need to know that someone will share their fears and joys. It uses the analogy of "Sabre Tooth Tigers and Teddy Bears" to make attachment theory understandable for everyone. As one of the quotes from the audiobook puts it: "People frequently ask how come no one tells them about this stuff? This is an attempt to do just that".
This is the second edition of the book, released in April 2020, and has been updated and revised since the first edition in 2013. The guide is written in a style suited to both personal and professional interests. Parents will find the information in it as relevant to their lives as do childcare staff, teachers, health visitors, business leaders and anyone else who works with people.

A brilliant, life changing book.
I have followed Dr Suzanne Zeedyk’s work for over 10 years. She writes clearly and compassionately about what it means to be human. She explains complex, academic terms in a way that allows the reader to not only understand how relationships shape our biology, but empower us to reflect on how we can be the best version of ourselves. I throughly recommend those book to anyone who wants a deeper understanding of what makes us, us.

A book that everyone would enjoy and learn from
I have the book but decided to try the audible version as I was intrigued. It felt like I was having the book read to "me" just like when you're wee & someone reads you a story. There is a different sort of connection which feels somehow more intimate. There is so much interesting information which is easy to understand and relevant to everyone. It is one those books that leaves you looking at life through a different lens.

Essential Listening
I'm really glad Dr Suzanne Zeedyk narrated this herself, there is a lovely cadence to this listen. She explains the science of connection and attachment very simply, and weaves in real life stories throughout. Wonderful, thank you Connected Baby

This book is a must for everyone - all ages
As someone who finds it difficult to read I am delighted that this is available on audio. As someone who grew up in the 60s and comes from a working class family on a council estate with no education I wish my parents had had access to this book. What Suzanne has written would have resonated with my parents and they would have understood. The simplicity of the language and the explanation of attachment would have made the concepts real for my parents. Suzanne's passion for this topic comes through in her tone and delivery, her intonation keeps the reader engaged and absorbed. I love any work around early attachment that crosses the divide of education and class.

Enlighten knowledge of life
This book is very interesting, understanding our life can be traced back to how we were treated as an new born infant.
Although there are many other factors hidden within this, it gives you a jump start to those newly becoming parent’s.
Must read for anyone related to the human race.
