About this listen

Welcome to Junebug Farms, a successful, well-known animal shelter in upstate New York, where every day brings something new - love, stress, heartbreak, warmth - and not just from the animals.

Catherine Gardner knows what it means to work hard. Growing up with little, it's pretty much all she's done for most of her life. As the bookkeeper for Junebug Farms, she handles the money. When Catherine finds herself undeniably attracted to Emily Breckenridge, daughter of the shelter's largest donor, it doesn't sit well with her. At all.

Emily Breckenridge has spent her life in the shadows of both her family's money and her brother, Clark. But when the reins of the family's charity foundation are taken from Clark and handed to Emily, it's her chance to shine on her own. Everything about Catherine Gardner is unexpected, from her emotional reserve to the crazy magnetic pull she has...one Emily can't seem to fight.

a whole new world of books has opened for me

Loved it. I have listened to all 3 in the series. I've possibly read 8 or 9 of Georgia Beers books over the years. She never fails me but I have to say listening to Abby Craden read this adds another layer of fabulousness!. I have started searching for anything Abby reads. I've typically not been a fan of talking books but now..... I've found the joy of books again. Thank you Georgia and Abby.

One of my favourites!!

I enjoyed this so much it was difficult for me to leave it be. The characters pulled me in. I loved being part of this journey. Excellent writing from a wonderful Author. I am drawn to an excellent story which this is!

Abby, I can't find any other voice/narrator, that is so capable of making each character so individual. You are so skilled in your craft and an absolute must in my book.

Run to you

It was a lovely romance, I felt like i wanna fall in love too. Abby is amazing, probably without her it would have been worse.
The end is a bit fast and sudden, like i didnt even know how we teleported in space and time

N.B. This booring book is #2 in Puppy Love series

It is unfair of Audible not to give buyers the chance to listen to books that are part of a series in the order they were written. It really does not help listener's enjoyment that the retailer does not even bother to let listeners know when a book is part of a series or what number in the series the book is. This comment does not only apply to this Puppy Love series of books but appears consistent throughout every series available on Audible and is something that they should correct.

It undoubtedly spoilt my enjoyment of of this title that I listened to the better book, and final in the series first. Nevertheless, as a standalone novel this is a fairly boring story, I only stuck with because I love animals and it involves dogs. It is not helped by the fact that it is padded out with repetitive sentences, stating and then restating what has already been said, plus innumerable tediously clichéd descriptions. Georgia Beers also has a poor grasp of English sentence construction, which is quite dreadful at times, as is a significant amount of her vocabulary. She appears to write using a thesaurus when she should use a dictionary and the results are ironically funny at times.

If it were not for the descriptions of sex included in this novel, the juvenile tone Georgia Beers uses would make this audiobook book more appropriate for the young adult market.

Thanks to Audible's lack of information, I have listened to the Puppy Love series the wrong way round and still have the first book in the series to go but, based on this, I will be giving it a miss.

I never enjoy the sultry tone narrator Abby Craden adopts very much. Her habit of drawing out the ends of words to convey emotion becomes too predictably clichéd after listening to a number of her readings. One useful tip I have found with her readings is to speed up the playback, this means she speaks very quickly but at least I do not have to listen to the sound of so many irritatingly rolled 'r's.
