Excellent beginners book
When I was a kid in Alaska I'd climb all sorts of hills and mountains. Or at least what we're mountains to me at that young age. Now older I'm looking to do some real rock climbing I'm glad I found this books to get me some foundational knowledge to get started working on my goals.

well written and informative
A book with good information. This book is the ideal, whether you are interested in climbing or are just learning how to do it. You will learn the common terms used in climbing as well as the numerous techniques needed to scale different heights. But most significantly, you can learn the safety precautions that are essential while engaging in this kind of sport or activity. I really liked how the book also discussed progressing to outdoor climbing once you have learned all of the necessary steps; as a result, the book would also be excellent for someone who is little more experienced than a novice.

The Hard Way
I'm scared of heights but with all this knowledge, I'm considering indoor climbing. I also like the bat-hang. Need to get stronger feet though. This book is definitely for beginners. It is a guidebook, it talks about lingo and definitions. It is awesome! Great information.

Perfect Beginners Guide
I have rock climbed before but it's been years and this book was perfect for me. I loved how it was so simple to read and perfect for anyone that is just getting into the sport or even for those like myself who have climbed before but need help getting back into it. I am glad there is an entire section on safety because that really is something that scares away people from the sport.

Rock climbing 101!
I'll be traveling for vacation soon and want to take the family out for some great adventure. Rocking Climbing is definitely on the agenda. However, before I do this, I wanted to be a little knowledgeable before heading off. This audiobook did this for me. It has everything I need to know about rock climbing. Who knew there were different types of climbing?
Chapter 4 was my favorite, where I learned about knots and Anchors, I knew this way back at Summer camp as a kid but needed a refresher, and Chapter 6, where safety checks were discussed, was vital for me; I need to keep the family safe while enjoying ourselves,

Complete breakdown - extremely informative.
I've been indoor rock climbing a few times and have always said to myself I would absolutely love to go rock climbing 'for real' one day but have always viewed it as an activity that certainly would be too difficult to get started with. I was inspired by the amazing documentary Free Solo and told myself to look into more seriously. I've watched a few youtube videos but it's pretty difficult to get all the information in a logical order in one place on youtube. Some I turned to Audible instead and I'm honestly so glad I did. Absolutely fantastic book which really does take you through everything you need to know about rock climbing when you are complete beginner. It lays out in the information you need in a logical order so you can tick things off in your head 1 by 1, I will certainly be using this as a continued reference as I now pursue a goal to get rock climbing early next year.
All bases you could really think of were covered in detail. One big worry of mine was to how to properly to the different knots and anchors, it sounded like something I never wanted to learn but this was covered in detail and I'll now cross reference with youtube so I make sure I get the technique spot on. Also the safety checks was a really good chapter, as safety is obviously the most important factor you have to consider when climbing. My nerves have definitely been calmed as it was re-assuring to know that if you follow the simple rules then the sport is actually pretty safe.
Overall a really great listen and one that I would highly recommend.
