Relaxing and rhythmic poetry collection
Though I found the narration relaxing I kept wondering if this is an AI voice or if the audio has been cleaned to a degree I’ve never heard before. No clicks, no pauses, and not even any breathing! … it’s the lack of breathing that left me somewhat freaked and doubtful.
Otherwise, this is a lovely collection of melodic poetry, which is best listened to in a quiet space with no distractions so you don’t miss the words and the sense of each verse.
I highly recommend this audiobook if you love poetry and listening rather than reading. This is my first time with poetry in audio format, and I’ve discovered I prefer to read it. That’s a completely personal thing, though, and in no way detracts from the beauty of Rhythms of Rain.
Many thanks to PeteMc Voices for a free ARC this audiobook. A solid four stars from me.

Rhythms of Rain
There is a growing body of poetic work by Wiiliam Gomes, a poet not afraid to explore sensitive topics that touch upon matters of the heart, soul, society and spirituality. Here rhyming couplets abound a musicality pervades the poetry.
Thematically this collection seems like a continuation of his previous Bridges over Shadows collection.
The narration of Peter McGiffen is well suited to these mellow moments. 5☆
