NOW A SUNDAY TIMES BESTSELLER!

THE EPIC NEW EAGLES OF THE EMPIRE NOVEL FROM BESTSELLING AUTHOR SIMON SCARROW - THE PERFECT BOOK FOR THE SEASON OF ROME!

ROME AND BOUDICA. A DUEL TO THE DEATH.

AD 61. Britannia is divided.

The rebel horde has been defeated. But the leader, Boudica, and her remaining warriors are still at large. With them is the eagle standard of the Ninth Legion, taken in ambush, flaunted as proof that Rome can yet be beaten.

The embers of rebellion are still glowing . . .

The toll has been heavy, with countless men lost, and major towns in ruins. The bodies of the dead are strewn across the streets. And for Centurion Macro, there is the scarring knowledge that his mother perished in the attack on Londinium.

As Macro's heart burns for revenge, he and his comrade-in-arms Prefect Cato are tasked with hunting down the remnants of the enemy army. There can be no peace until the queen is captured or killed. And Roman honour will only be restored when the eagle standard has been recovered.

IF YOU DON'T KNOW SIMON SCARROW, YOU DON'T KNOW ROME!

Fantastic story, phenomenal performance

what else can be said? This book, like all the others in the series, has left me wanting more. This book has left me no less eager to read on than the very first in the series. Bravo Mr Scarrow.

So good to listen to these. I just wish Simon could write at 1000x faster. So envious of people who are listening to this series for the first time!

The usual

We know what would be coming but it didn’t make it any less enjoyable. I hope it’s not the end .

Revenge of Rome

I like a good story, I am afraid that this story meets my criteria. The author has obviously spent many hours of research. I have listened to the the previous volumes, and this is the completion of the story, so far. Thank you. Patrick Speaight

Another fantastic annal in Cato and Macro's ongoing story

loved the colour and texture that Simon gives us as we navigate the ups and downs of the story. Jonathan's consistent voicing of our hero's and his pace of delivery can really get the heart going.

My own dislike, it was too short..

Another great instalment

A little slow to start and I started thinking that I’m tired of the Britannia exploits but then the story took on the usual flow and really enjoyed it.

Another great story with the narrator smashing it again!

Great story, even though you know the outcome from history, the way the author goes about the story is excellent. Jonathan Keeble gives another great performance and I will look out for more books read by him.
