Summary
DeAndre Moore came to Minneapolis from St. Louis with a purpose, but things aren't going as he planned. When it becomes clear he's in way over his head, DeAndre can think of only one person to call for help - his Uncle Nolan’s business partner, newly licensed private investigator Jane Lawless. However, by the time Jane listens to his voice mail, she’s hearing a voice from beyond the grave - DeAndre left the message only minutes before he was knifed to death outside a gentleman's club. Soon his murder isn't the only one.
With Nolan in the hospital, Jane sets out to find out who killed DeAndre, how his death is connected with the others, and what he was doing in Minneapolis in the first place.
Rest for the Wicked is another outstanding addition to Ellen Hart's award-winning mystery series.
Editor reviews
The 20th Jane Lawless mystery by award-winning writer Ellen Hart finds Lawless owning two restaurants complete with employees who don’t want to do things her way, a girlfriend who has left her behind, a best friend too caught up in her own troubles, a newly bestowed private investigator’s license, and a hospitalized business partner (and mentor) whose nephew calls her just before being murdered in the back alley of a strip club. Aimee Jolson brings a warm, upbeat vibe to her reading of this quirky, dark, and sexy mystery.

Jane is back!
I loved thus one. Jane at the centre of the story which as always is complicated but satisfying. Jane has the hint of a romance that may well last especially since everything is out in the open - well almost everything.
I can't help wondering what Julia is thinking or where Cordelias sanity has gone? What will happen to the Xanadu ? Is Barry in competent or trying to swindle Jane? Will Nolan date his favourite nurse. Avi could take over the house manager get her novel published. While Octavian and cordelia could become a roaring success on he stage if their own theatre? The possibilities are endless. Can't wait for the next audible book.
