About this listen
Madeline MacDonald has been a victim of her stepbrother's cruelty ever since her parents' death in a fire two years ago. Forced into a betrothal to a man she hates, her only way out is to escape to a convent. Laird Alexander Grant is honor bound to rescue Maddie after seeing the bruises on her face. What he doesn't realize is that once he holds the beaten lass in his arms, his heart will never be the same. He vows revenge for the abuse she was forced to endure and yearns to make the sweet woman with an iron will his, but can he help her fight the demons in her mind left behind by her abusers' horrid treatment?

The Scottish Highlander.
The Scottish Highlander Novels transport you to places you can only dream of, I admit I have fallen in love with Antony Ferguson’s beautifully expressive voice, Truly, Bernice Best.

Went a bit downhill towards the end
I enjoyed a great deal of this book but the ending felt slap dash and rushed. Kind of like “oh shit we’re running out of pages let’s wrap this up real quick”. Up until that point though it was well written and the plot line was good and interesting as well as the characters. I liked the narration well enough but felt the Scottish brogue was lacking a bit. Sounded like the narrator might have been from an Oceania (?) which gave me a bit of a disconnect to the whole Scottish theme. Aside from that he did a good job so a solid ⭐️⭐️⭐️ across the board. 😊

good story
Enjoying the story and characters. The nation is ok, but he's not great at distinct different voices. The female voices are a bit annoying and his male voices could do with being deeper.
