Summary
Frannie Shoemaker and her friends go camping to get away from the real world. So, they are surprised and dismayed to find their wilderness campground the production site of a new "reality" show - Celebrity Campout. Reality intrudes on their week in the form of accidents, nature, and even murder. They handle the situation with their usual humor, compassion, and mystery solving, because...camping can be murder.

Very enjoyable story
Real Actors, Not People by Karen Musser Nortman is another book in the Frannie Shoemaker Camping mystery series. In this book, a reality show is being filmed in the Michigan park that Frannie and her friends are visiting. Of course, there is a murder and other crimes, and Frannie helps out. Michelle Babb gives a stellar narrative performance! When Ms. Babb narrates, the characters and story come alive! The book and series are great!

Lights camera action
I enjoyed this book. It's another action packed hit. I never watch them, to busy listening to audio books but even I have heard of reality tv shows and loved the idea of one being set in a camp ground. Of course if it was set on a camp ground that Frannie and her friends are visiting then something is bound to go wrong and go wrong it did. It makes for a very entertaining story with plenty of twists and bickering, just right for a good cozy mystery if not for the tv. I hope there is more to come in this series because I have enjoyed them all and feel like I know the characters so well.
Frannie and her friends turn up at the latest camp ground to find they are not the only ones putting in an appearance at the site. A new Reality tv show is planning to start filming B list stars and old washed up has been. The production soon takes over the whole site and every time Frannie and the gang turn around they find the producer arguing with some one that is until he ends up dead. Frannie once again promises to stay out of it but when a sudden ice storm hits, she and the gang are out helping the celebrities that were stuck in tents and can't help but ask questions. When the killer realises she is talking to everyone it gets very personal for Frannie just when her family needs her the most. Could this case be camera, action and lights out for Frannie? Who needs tv when you go camping with Frannie?
Another out standing performance by the narrator. One that could have very easily been playing on the screen.

Entertaining
Narrator: Michelle Babb
The Shoemakers and friends get caught up in the drama of a reality tv show being filmed on their campsite and when the director is murdered there’s no end of suspects.
Enjoyable and entertaining with good narration.

Real Actors or Has Beens?
This is one of the best stories in an overall enjoyable series of books. Franny and her co-horts end up on a campsite where a reality TV series is being produced, a member of the team ends up dead after arguing with almost everyone on the crew so there are plenty of suspects. The weather takes a turn for the worse which doesn't help but once again Franny triumphs and manages to expose the killer, Highly recommended, expertly narrated by Michelle Babb once again. 5 stars!

Camping ...
Michelle Babb is a great narrator and makes the listening experience a joy.
I have to say I love listening and reading these campground thrillers
In this book we see behind Reality TV when a bunch of actors descend upon the peaceful campground to film a pilot . We have humour at the actors struggle with setting up tents and cooking over a campfire, There is a real criminal hiding within the fake campers. The story is funny and interesting,

Super mystery
This is a super mystery, I have loved the series overall and this is one of the best. Frannie, Larry and friends become involved with a reality show, the usual murder and the usual set of suspects. Really enjoyable to listen to Michelle narrate these books, she brings the characters to life. Highly recommended and I hope there are more to come.

Beware of reality tv
I have to admit I am not fond of the intermittent character Donna. She is the least favourite character in this whole book. The story was good, but not as good as the previous books, imho. Michelle Babb was in top form as usual. But I do love the main characters, Frannie, Larry, Mickey, and Jane Ann. I think the author created wonderful characters and love their interactions with each other. I look forward to their next adventures!
