I wasn’t expecting much, but damn was it written well
I went into this without that much since I usually like more fantasy in what I listen to, and this only has that aspect when it comes to the premise of the series, which is the time travel in the beginning.
I found that the MC is highly intelligent, but with flaws. She is OP, but not to the point that it gets annoying. And she makes a lot of mistakes when trying to rectify her life, which make her a compelling character.
The story always had some form of tension, with buildup, and the author rewarded that tension.
The book is in no way finished as there is so much more of the story to tell, but it doesn’t end on a horrible cliffhanger, which is nice as there is only one book out now.
The narrator was also pretty good, and I was able to differentiate who was talking based on the voices, which is a must for audiobooks.
What I didn’t like was when the MC dreamt or imagined things, but those parts were few and far between.
Overall a very good story with a good MC and solid story. I normally don’t give 5 stars, and I am a bit in doubt due to some things, but since the experience overall was good I decided it was worth it.

great narrator, story without and end
I wasn't sure about what to expect, but I didn't't expect to get no ending after such a long play time..

Loved it
Loved it, the only annoyance was the old lady voice, but maybe it will go away eventually, as she becomes more at home in her new body? I was sort of hoping it'd leave after... the dream

Heartfelt and honest
I'll start by saying Amy Landon has a lovely voice and was a genuine pleasure to listen to.
A few hours into the book, I'll admit to being a touch worried. Some of the things the 'new' Tabitha engaged in had me thinking we were being delivered a Mary Sue, with her purported stunning beauty, her verbosity, and her affinity for martial arts. Thankfully, the author does an excellent job of circumventing this as more and more of the drama unfolds. They also display a very frank awareness of maladaptive family dynamics, mental health issues, and abuse. To me, this book handles these things maturely, effectively, and sometimes with heartbreaking honesty. Should a second installment make it to audible, I shall definitely pick it up.

Well worth the wait
I’ve been following forty on Patreon, reading this chapter by chapter for the past few years.
The story itself does a fantastic job of melding a fantasy element - going to the past - with real worth experiences.
This story really gets across the messy nature of life and does a great job of showing the effect choices have - on your own life and that of others.
If you’re unsure about listening or reading this I would definely recommend giving it a go.
10/10 would listen/ read again ( I bought the paperback too)

Not really a fantasy novel
This was not really a fantasy novel . But I'm glad I listened to it . Probably needs to be re categorized . If this was the author writing about their youth , I think they let the parents off lightly . I also hope they are getting the help they need to work through the issues . And if it was just a book , it was well written and engaging . Well worth the journey .

Great as far as it goes…
… but why is there no resolution? Honestly, for an author to write about an author, and include so much about how she constructs her story outline, to leave it hanging like that, leaves you feeling unsatisfied. Like reading Fellowship of the Ring and having Tolkien stop there without writing the rest. I really hope this is not the end of an otherwise great story.

Perfect slice of life
This story was recommended and it has to be one of the few stories I have listened to recently that actually got my emotions going.
The MC is so realistic and the story so well written that it flows smoothly. I did not think that at anytime there was a filler or irrelevent details.
The narration fits the audio perfectly. Highly recommended.
